Adorable little restaurant tucked away in the old town. The chief is from Palermo and cooks the most most mouth watering Sicilian dishes from scratch while you wait but, for the less adventurous, the menu also includes traditional Umbrian fare. We loved it can't wait to go back to try more of the Sicilian desserts!

We stumbled across this place about a month ago when visiting Amelia with out of town relatives. The town is one of our favorites and we just happened upon the restaurant. We went back again today with another set of guests. Both times the food was delicious, the prices good, and the service pretty good. They can be slow, but that's a combination of Italian dining practice and the fact that the food isn't just waiting to be reheated. Out of the 8 adult portions that we've eaten, no one was disappointed. The menu is small, which is nice. The foods are generally local, and we will be back again. Even the kids loved it and they were more than happy to make a plate of pasta with a red sauce for the kids. Everyone was happy.

On my 5th visit to my favorite town in Italy, we went to this fabulous restaurant called La Locanda. It's in the charming walled city of Amelia. The food was superb. We had lunch and dinner there. It's very charming and quite a large restaurant for the area. It was crowded when we arrived for dinner. We were lucky to get the last table. The owner speaks English and is very charming. Although we were with people that speak Italian, it's nice to go to a restaurant where you can ask questions about the food in English. I look forward to my return and will absolutely go back to this great restaurant. Prices were very reasonable too. On your way out… make sure you go up the stairs and take a look at the view from the rooftop.

Recommended by the tourist information in Amelia we went here for a light lunch before exploring the cobbled streets. We were quite early so the restaurant was empty so can't really comment on the speed of things but the service was friendly. We both had a pasta dish off the specials menu which was delicious and filling and the price was reasonable. I would recommend la laconda as a lovely place to go for some tasty food.

The restaurant is located inside an alley in the old city of Amelia, in an ancient and beautiful house. We were a party of 10, and the restaurant was pretty full, but the wait for the food was not too long. The food itself was great - especially the pizzas and the wild boar stew. The price was very reasonable - 170 Euros including wine, drinks, and some deserts (we did not order a full meal for everybody, but everyone had at least a main course - meat, pasta, or pizza).
