A lovely two room B&B set in a small hamlet called Brambuan, just outside of the picturesque town Josselin.
There is a downstairs annexe, which we stayed in, with all the amenities you would expect - en suite, kitchenette with tea/coffee and cooking facilities, TV (French and English Sky), DVD player (with films to choose from) and a library with lots of useful tourist information. There is no sink for washing up but the owner comes into the room every day to collect/return used crockery which is even better! There is a private decking area outside with table, parasol and recliners to enjoy the sun and there is a BBQ and bikes with helmets at your disposal.
There is a second room which our friends stayed in, in a loft conversion within the main house, which has the same facilities plus a sink with a more contemporary style which was also very nice.
When we arrived the fridge and cupboards were stocked with breakfast items such as bread, pancakes, eggs (from the household chickens), jam, milk, fruit, juices etc. and the breakfast table was all laid up for us. The English owner Karen falls over herself to be hospitable and is a wealth of knowledge for places to go, good restaurants, directions etc, she even ran us into town and collected us on a few evenings so we could have a few drinks with our meal. Whilst the household animals are not allowed in the guest rooms the B&B does welcome visitors to bring their own pets which we
may do next time, and their cats and dogs are delightful.
I would definitely visit again and we really enjoyed our stay.
What a fabulous and relaxing Easter break we had in this beautiful B&B set a few minutes from the stunning town of Josselin that boasts a very grand Medieval castle.
The accommodation was excellent, we stayed in the newly converted apartment that was at the top of house - this was very clean, modern and private with a lovely kitchen, bathroom and living room area. There are Vellux windows running either side of the apartment providing loads of light with beautiful, rural views either side of the property - and boy when its a clear night, the stars are stunning!
Our friends stayed downstairs in the self contained apartment which was also beautiful and more traditional than where we stayed with a lovely exposed stone walls. This also had its own private deck area with outside table and chairs and a BBQ to use if we wished.
Everything you need for a continental breakfast in the morning is provided in your apartment and Karen the owner could not be more accommodating, friendly. She is wealth of knowledge for things to do and made us feel so incredibly welcome. She even kindly provided a taxi service for us when we went into Josselin for an evening meal!
We can't wait to visit again - and its dog friendly so might bring our four legged friend next time!
What a beautiful place to stay, everything you need is there and the owners are lovely. The best night sleep I have had in a long time! Would highly recommend staying here if your looking for a relaxing break then this is perfect.
Lovely quiet relaxing stay on the edge of Josselin. Karen, our host was so welcoming with a huge selection of things for breakfast and also provided a taxi service into town so we could enjoy a meal! I would highly recommend this b&b and we hope to come back in the summer when the Chateau is open to the public! Also one big advantage we could take our dog, very animal friendly place.
