Stayed here for 2 days on my 1st anniversary in a Heritage Villa with Private Pool. It was truly one of my best stay experiences. The staff is very courteous, friendly and willing to do their best to help you achieve the best experience. The location by the backwaters with small streams flowing through the resort gives you a very good experience. The bird sanctuary close by is a must visit for any nature lover. The food is also very nice and the buffet has a good spread. The cultural shows in the evening gives you a flavour of the local culture and is a must attend. The pools being open have the obvious challenge of insects in the evening, but the staff is very prompt in cleaning the same as per your needs. The various activities including the evening sunset cruise ensures you would never feel an iota of boredom.

I stayed for 2 days which included a day's House Boat stay. I would give Kumarakom a 10/10 for their flexibity in service to accomodate Customers comfort and standards were met beyond what you expect or pay for. Staff is very cordial and highly skilled in handling your small to big requests and is absolute customer delight. A very good place for Family vacation with its rich heritage property. The SPA also provides ultimate experience. Try and choose a all inclusive package. House Boat stay is an ultimate experience and the Cook and captain ensure you have a wonderful experience. KLR is highly reccomended and I am soon planning a second visit and this time with my whole family.

Room Tip: If you are a couple choose a Heritage Pool Villa as it has a private pool. Else if you are a big family choose a Pavilion Pool Villa.

Kumarakom is a peaceful place on the Backwaters of Kerala with lots of hotels. But nothing beats the Kumarakom Lake resort with the meandering pool ! If you have the budget, opt for a suite which has an independent pool. You can also rent a bicycle at the hotel and go out for a relaxing ride amongst lots and lots of greenery.

Room Tip: Take a Suite with an individual pool if you have th budget

Gods own resort in a Gods own country! Stayed for 4 nights about an year ago! Ya I know its been long but just became a member in trip advisor and thought it would be a sin not to let people know about it. One of the best resort we've stayed in. Incredible service and food. amazing variety in the buffets everyday. Great care taken by the always smiling staff. Excellent infinity pool though it is too shallow for lap swimmers. Complementary sunset cruise with traditional live carnatic music was a divine experience. Evening tea in 'thattukada' with south Indian snacks can't be missed either!

This review is self explanatory. This did change. But a one hour delay to check in? After 36 hours of traveling?

The thing that didn't work was having us do lunch, and a tour of the grounds, but no access to our room

Well, now one full month after the trip, have good memories. It was checking in that caused problems. Great food. Great service. We did have brown outs, but that is common in the country. Sunset cruise was good for one time shot. Fabulous grounds.

I would call this like a Fantasy Island trip.

Had one of the villas with our own private pool. Also enjoyed how the restroom is outdoors and not airconditioned.
