I write this from Zoe's balcony on the last morning of my holiday.
Many reviews extol the positives of Zoe and they are mostly right however if you are like me and wonder "I would have liked to have known that" then this is it.
Zoe is part of a modern 3 storey development of 50+ residences of 1,2 and 3 bedrooms. Zoe is one of the best occupying the ground and middle floors, with a penthouse on the top floor.
Zoe is adjacent to the shared pool.
The sun leaves Zoe around 12.00.
Far from being surrounded by small tavernas and restaurants there are in fact only 2 (at the time of writing) within a mile. Zaverti is a good restaurant (went 3 times) and the village taverna/restaurant is not so good also being on the excursions route.
I would have given Zoe 4 stars but the patio garden is a mess and needs urgent maintenance.
Vicky the manager speaks little English (though much better than my Greek) and quickly resolves those little issues that crop up.
Excellent accomodation, thoughtful presentation and courteous and responsive host in Vicky. Great location, top quality. Happy to recommend it.
From the moment we arrived at Zoe House we knew we were going to love it. Caretakers Nick and Sarah were there to meet us and give us lots of useful information regarding the island and the surrounding area. The welcome pack they left for us was amazing, my daughter summed it up when she said "this house just keeps on giving". The pool was lovely, my grandchildren were in there every day and also down on the beach which was just over the road.
On an evening we either walked into Sami for a meal and caught a taxi back or went to the restaurant close by which had basic meals but the beautiful surroundings made up for it.
If you get the opportunity to stay at Zoe House take it you won't be disappointed, Kefalonia is a beautiful island, you will want to return again and again I know I do.
As a family of 6 we had a wonderful stay at Zoe beach house to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday and my daughter's 17th birthday - thanks to Sarah & Nick for our stocked fridge including a lovely wine, and we loved the marmalade!
The apartment has everything you could possibly need. It was spotlessly clean, with a mid week change of linen, and everything was in working order.
Breakfast on the balcony with that awesome view was special every day. We loved being able to walk over the road to swim in the beautiful clear sea, and we walked into Sami every day to try the other beaches and to eat. We didn't have a bad meal - we ate at the traditional restaurants.
We were very sad to go and would love to go back. Hope to see you again soon!
As 99% of people have stated, a fantastic stay at Zoe beach house, plenty of space for 4 of us, with the most beautiful views across the bay, what more do you need for a relaxing holiday. Sarah & Nick left a welcome pack which was very helpful until we could get to a supermarket. Sarah's homemade marmalade went down well each morning for breakfast sitting on the large balcony enjoying the scenery. Kitchen had everything you need plenty of clean utensils and lots of pots and pans etc. Bedrooms were spotless and bedding & towels changed mid week all rooms had fitted wardrobes, what more do you need!! No sign of other peoples sweat or suncream as previous reviewer has stated. Yes there were leaves in the garden but what do you expect when the weather is windy This is our 5th visit to these apartments and can't wait to come back again next year. Thank you Sarah & Nick
Dead flowers and dirt
I am not sure where the online reviews of this house came from but i could not disagree with them more.
This is not a house , it is an apartment within a complex that more closely resembles a 1970's council block than a holiday let. You cannot sit anywhere outside without being overlooked by at least 20 balconies.
The garden advertised is an over grown grubby, unswept, uncared for dump.
The pool advertised with the villa , does not belong to the apartment, you cannot use the loungers by the pool, you cannot take a brolly and sit around the pool, you can swim in the pool, and when you get out of the pool walk back through the dead leaf strewn, dirty corridor to your dusty apartment that is smeared everywhere with previous guests sweat and suncream.
Inside, grubby throws cover ancient furniture , walls are decorated with dark and dingy cheap pictures and busts. There are dead , sorry dried and plastic flowers that harbour cobwebs and bugs.
Bed throws are nylon and cheap,
Bathrooms are full of rusty and stained utensils
Kitchen ware is cheap, thick pots.
Downstairs it is dungeon like and smells foisty, unclean. More badly decorated, overused bedrooms with corridors strewn with cushion covers, cushions and odd furntiure, its like living in someone else's mess and its disgusting.
The apartment is not serviced, no one comes to take away your rubbish, clean up, sheets were changed once in 2 weeks.
Having booked this as a birthday oresent for my oarents i am bitterly disappointed, the pictures i have uploaded are the true state of this place june 2017. I believe this apartment is mis sold on the internet. Do not rent it.
All you could possibly need and more for an absolutely perfect holiday. Special thanks to Sarah and Nick (managers) for everything.
