“Very good place with a fantastic view”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

We ate here a few times, making the journey by taxi most of the time from Agia Efimia. We did walk it once but it took an hour and fifteen minutes so we did not try that again! The food is very good, with a number of daily specials being especially nice. The meatballs in tomato sauce are excellent. So too the Moussaka and standard fare. The service is very personal - we wanted to take it very slowly and most of time we were able to do that taking our time between the courses. If you are based in Agia Efimia, its well worth making the trip out to this place (7 t0 8 euros by taxi one way)

“A Nice Quiet Place to Eat any Meals”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

We ate at this restaurant three times. First when we were sight seeing hiring a taxi our last stop was at this restaurant. As soon as we saw the place we just set down and ordered a nice cool drink of local beer named Mythos as it was very hot. The not so young talkative gentleman came with a great smile to make us comfortable. I do not remember what we ordered but the food was very good and very nicely served by a young sweet looking girl who was very helpful in choosing the dishes. Sitting by the fence over looking Ionian Sea and not so distant islands one can forget the world. The second visit - walked from Agia Efimia a distance of nearly four and a half km early evening - but it was hot and rather tiring because of the heat. Sitting by the fence as said before one forgets their tiredness and heat in a few minutes. This time I ordered cod fish pie but the fish was found to be rather chewy. However we enjoyed everything immensely. The gentleman and the two sweet looking girls served everything that we ordered very promptly and nicely. I cannot fault this place for anything.

“Spectacular views and food at this hidden treasure trove”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

Kefalonia is hardly short of restaurants with great views but the vista from this eatery halfway between Sami and Agia Efimia stands out against the stiffest competition.
It's a short distance past the Green Bay Hotel if you're travelling from Sami and it looks closed from the road. Thankfully it's just hidden behind an outdoor nightclub, which thankfully is closed at teatime.
This is Greek al fresco dining at its best with a sensational view from under a tree canopy across the bay to Sami, Ithaca and beyond.
There's even a miniature beach accessible by steps from the dining area.
A great view is seldom enough to justify wasting money on bad food but Agia Paraskevi serves up as good a dinner as it does a view.
It was quiet evening and as a result many of the dishes were off the menu but our disappointment soon dissipated when we realised everything had been made fresh that day. Besides, if I wanted something out of the freezer, I'd have stayed at home.
The menu is typically Kefalonian – Greece classics influenced by Italian cuisine – with notable extra freshness and quality.
My octopus with pickled vegetables was tentacles above the usual rubbery rubbish, while the spicy cheese salad was a piquant curiosity.
For mains, my grilled goat chops were delicious and tender while my partner's cinnamon-tinged moussaka was possibly the best I've had; rich with distinctive layers of pasta, lamb, cheese and potato.
Our host and owner Tasos was extremely warm and helpful.
Thank goodness I got out of the car and searched around as we could have missed a genuine hidden gem.
