I visited The Lake Palace in first week of November 2012 with a group of friends from college. We took a student package of RTDC which includes meals n stay. The hotel is at a breathtaking location. The lake was full of water, So It looked amazingly beautiful, On top of that winters were approaching so it made Superior combination of weather and view. Hotel staff was very courteous to arrange for a Camp Fire for us. Buffet Dinner was good. Deluxe Suite at the first floor are really nice, Lake facing and Romantic. Hotel staff is not bothered even if you have fun all night at the porch and terrace. The lake and mountain view looks heavenly in the night. Staff arranged the breakfast at 6.30 am on our request as we had to move for Sariska in the morning.
Overall, a picturesque property. Great place for weekend getaway for romantic couple and group of friends. I recommend this hotel for a short trip.

Room Tip: Deluxe suite on the lower floor

I went to this propoerty during weekend of 20th-21st Oct 2012. Did the booking online. Worked fine. Nice drive from Delhi, small section near Sariska was bad but it was being repaired so over all roads are very nice. I went via Bhiwari/Alwar to avoid NH8The parking and the lobby are far away. Room was clean and not smelly, thankfully. Sheets were clean. Toilets were spacious and clean. There was hot water. No dry kitched. No room phone in our rooms.Hotel was due for whitewash so expected better looking building next time. We landed there at 2pm and were suggested to use the opportunity of taking our car in to Sariska to the temple.the entry to Sariska National Park is made free on all Tuesdays and Saturdays for this. We got some pakoras packed and ran. Its a good 45 mins at least since the distance is 27km and road is not all that wide in places. Were allowed to go in with 250 as entry charge which has to be paid at the office some distance away(500m) form the park gate. The road inside was drivable but you cannot take regular car inside. I dont think it is allowed. Anyway. We found a lot of people coming and going to the temple but could not make it as it became dark and started to rain so we turned back. At the hotel we had a basic buffet dinner. Tasty food. Could not eat the non veg though it was not Halaal. There was a bar and the bar tender came to each room to ask everyone for orders. I was the only one to order so he took me along and provided my drink. You should make the payment there and then to avoid confusion. Next morning had to go down to the reception to ask for bed tea :-(. Breakfast was only Puri Sabzi and bread(not toast) with butter was available on special request. By the way I had tipped the guy who showed us the rooms so he was extra attentive. We then went for boating. There are two options. Paddle boat and power boat. We took the power boat. rs 600 for 15 mins for 6 people. We were six so worked for us. The half round of the lake was exciting. We had seen a crocodile from our roof in the morning in the water behind the hotel but the boatmen said it wasnt supposed to be there since the crocodiles were kept away by a wall so this one must have been a fugitive ;-).We checked out by noon. Found too many soft drinks in the bills, which we had not ordered so please check carefully. Over all a good place to spend the night and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Room Tip: Almost all rooms are similar except two suites but not really worth it. So take any room.

The hotel is located on top of a hill overlooking the lake and is run by RTDC and this is the main reason why I would not recommend this place for stay. You could try Amrit Resort which is quite near (reviewed separately) or any other hotel you choose.

Since it is run by the goverment the staff are not interested in YOU. We drove straight from Gurgaon. As you enter the palace you are supposed to pay Rs 100- for a couple. This coupon can be exchanged for food at the restaurant. We thought of boating first but were told the staff responsible for running the speed boat is off duty so we took the other boat. We were charged Rs 600- for a 15 minute ride, which was not bad. Afterwards we headed to the Restaurant for refreshments. There again we were told that the bar is not open yet (it was 15 minutes past noon) so we settled for cold drinks and pakora. As we were settling down the Bar attended walked in and I got my beer.

The view from the terrace is awesome and it left me wondering if this place was ousourced to a private party? It appears that the area arround the lake is never cleaned since there were small mounds of water bottles, plastic glasses and bread wrappers (people feed bread to the fish) and mostly certainly RTDC or Rajasthan Govt was least bothered about tourism or cleanliness.

As we left the property arrounf lunch time we stumbled upon another hidden gem "Sasu ki dhani" right at the entarnce of the road leading to the lake. Value for money simple food freshly prepared right in front of you. I particulary recommend missi roti and dal fry.

The location is beautiful, surrounded by lake and hills on all sides. But experience of staying at the RTDC property was terrible, to say the least. We booked an AC room. Power cut is rampant, and every time there’s one, you have to personally go and tell the staff (no intercom) to switch the generator on........and at night they just don't bother about it! The service staff are virtually demanding tips for every little service. The place is teeming with local visitors, but one can afford some privacy if one manages to get one of the AC rooms at the top. The view is just breathtaking from there. On our second day of stay there was no running water since morning, the nonchalant reception guys informed that the pump has broken down. So we decided to just get out of that place! Oh....and no mobile network except bsnl.
A picturesque location, with absolutely useless management…….consider going in winter when you won't need an AC or a fan........

Siliserh Lake Palace is one of the best located budget property in Rajasthan. The views are wonderful...surrounded by lush green Aravali range and perched on a hillock facing the massive lake.

When you check in you have to pay 100% advance to the hotel and you fall in a trap. You have to remind again and again for any services may be asking for a soap, towel or order food. The management really don't care especially during day hours when the restaurant is open to the public who come here to enjoy picnic and eat in the restaurant.

Go if you are looking for a holiday in solace and pure calmness and ready to self service yourself.

Prices are too reasonable and food quality is good.

Room Tip: Choose the lake facing rooms on top floor.

We stayed at Siliserh Lake Palace in April, 2009. The location and the view from the hotel is simply outstanding when compared to anything else in the region. Most rooms have fantastic lake views. The restaurant and the large terrace outside the restaurant has 180 degree views of the really large lake.

The rooms are also reasonable even though the quality differs. Check the rooms out before taking your final pick. The downside to the hotel is service, which is slow and food, which essentially caters to day-trippers. Also, once the day-trippers have gone, the palace gives a slightly desolate feeling. So, it is better visited as a group if you plan to stay.

Room Tip: rooms vary a lot. check out a few rooms and then select.

This RTDC property is very like its Ranthambore cousin, the Jhoomar Baori. The location, a placid lake in the midst of Aravalli is superb. But the hotel itself is not up to the mark, The place is not well kept or well run. Rooms are in a bad state. Food which sometimes can uplift a hotel experience is also sadly below expectations.

The worst part is that during weekends, crowds pour in at such a scale that guests who are booked in for rooms are often stuck in their rooms with noisy crowds on the balconies and on the boating sites. Overall the cost for the rooms and food are also extremely expensive considering the services provided.

This is to take nothing away from the place though. Siliserh is lovely and great place to be in the mornings and nights. Best to book here only during weekdays when rates are lower and crowds are absent.

Room Tip: Choose one of the suites even though they might burn a hole in your pocket. they are on a separate l...
