“Over Hyped place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

As per me the place is too hyped. I went for a weekend stay and there is nothing royal about the place. The service is almost absent with no room service, telephone operator don't respond on time, if you ask the staff to do anything extra they make faces.
The rooms are very basic.
Food - the only option is buffet which is very expensive at about 1200 per person for the variety and quality they offer.
The only good part is they have 2 swimming pools which are clean and of decent size.

Other than it is only an experience of staying in a fort where you have to walk a lot and you can get decent pics clicked.

Don't expect 5 star treatment/amenities

Room Tip: chose pool facing rooms or terrace rooms as they have a better view and spacious

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback about the Neemrana Fort-Palace resort near Dehi.

With respect to your feedback about the rooms, please do note that Neemrana has a range of rooms from INR 3000 to INR 25000. The room size, decor, and bathroom amenities are in accordance with the price. The heritage wing has some rooms which are small or quirky in the lower categories while others are rather grand. Do inform our Sales team about your requirements and they shall gladly assist you in finding a suitable room whenever you stay with us next.

The Neemrana philosophy is different from hotels where modern- day amenities are given priority over ambience and old-world charm. At Neemrana, we try and strike a balance between the two so that the past is not completely obliterated. We have never claimed to be a five-star luxurious hotel.
Since the rooms are equipped with tea and coffee makers, common hospitality practices like room service are avoided. This is part of the Neemrana USP.

However, we are disappointed to read your feedback about the food and apologise for the same. Please note that the lunch and dinner buffet includes approximately 15 dishes with a mixture of Indian, Chinese, and Continental cuisine including vegetarian and non-vegetarian soups, salads, starters, main courses, and various Indian and Continental breads and desserts. Your feedback has been communicated with the Chefs and the F&B team; and we assure you that you will notice an improvement whenever you choose to visit next. Also, in addition to the buffet we have recently introduced the Maha Burj thali restaurant that serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian Rajasthani thalis on weekends.

We thank you for the appreciation regarding the two swimming pools.

We do hope that you will give us a fair chance to overlay your past experience with a fresh and memorable one.

Warm Regards,
Team Neemrana

Staying at Neemrana is always a gratifying experience. We stayed at the Badal Mahal and it makes you feel you are up in the clouds.. It is a lovely room but the problem is that the beds are too short. My Husband is 6ft3" and he was distinctly uncomfortable in the bed :-( The food was fabulous on Saturday but the Sunday dinner was just average. The hospitality is endearing and you feel awesome staying at Neemrana. The lack of television gives you time to talk and just be with your loved ones and nature. You see peacocks gracing the terraces. for me the best experience was the SPA treatment.. it was absolutely divine..

the perfect royal getaway from Delhi. I had heard a lot of things about this place, both good and bad, but I have only nice words to say. Here is an honest experience.

We stayed at the jalaj mahal which is one of the budget rooms. The price ranges as high as 21k per night to as low as 4k per night.

Room: jalaj mahal is a tiny suite. A tiny lobby and two little bedrooms with a beautiful vintage dresser. No mini bar. Mineral water bottle complimentary. very clean and well maintained. Theres a tiny balcony too. no television. But a very peaceful ambience.

Bathroom: very well kept. One of the walls is formed by the Aravalli hills.

Breakfast: complimentary. good enough but could be better. All the regular stuff: bacon, sausage, upma, aloo paratha, fruits etc, etc. Huge jam spread containing about 7 different types of jams. These amazing jams also available for sale at the Neemrana shop.

Dinner: about 1200 PP. Dinner could be better but I was satisfied well enough. Just loved the mutton curry, mutton seekh and creamy spinach.

Evening tea: complimentary. In the beautiful hawa mahal one enjoy tea or coffee with the evening breeeze.

Swimming pool : 2 outdoor pools, one strictly for adults as its deep. Both the pools are awesome. Lovely view of the neemrana village from the top pool.

Gym is complimentary while spa is reasonably priced.

The best part : free wifi

The worst part about this place: Parking at owner's risk. Come on you have to take responsibility of our cars otherwise why should we come??

The whole fort palace is very well maintained. Very courteous staff. One of the best stays of my life.

Room Tip: We chose jalaj mahal and we were very satisfied.

Thank you for your heartwarming feedback about the Neemrana Fort-Palace heritage resort near Delhi.

We are delighted to learn that enjoyed the ambience of your room Jalaj Mahal. Your appreciation has been conveyed to the restoration team.

Your compliments regarding the non-vegetarian dishes have been conveyed to the F&B manager and the team. This is exactly what we strive to achieve and it is always heartening when someone at the receiving end can sense the effort and the love.

Due to the architectural features of the place, the parking area is not a flat surface. However, utmost care of the vehicles is taken bu the staff. The board is a standard norm that you would find outside most places.

We thank you for your visit and look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Visited in June 2013 as couple and then June 2014 with family.

We did trip to neemrana twice both at my anniversary . first time it was June 2013 where we have stayed in Kaath Mahal. Neemrana fort is old fort which is restored in heritage property and new wings are added. First time we went their as couple and Kaath mahal was appropriate. It was secluded and it has its own private porch with nice view and canon. We spend 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed and explored the fort property. Good part was that though we were couple but fort have enough place to put camera and take the photos on automatic mode. So, we captured all the moments together. The breakfast and evening snacks were included in tariff and dinner and lunch you have to pay for. Lunch and Dinner were good although it sometime become monotonous to eat same flavours. They do have lots of variety though. Since the fort was excellent - we spent most of the time exploring the fort, evenings in pool and rest of the time in room/porch enjoying the view. It was a memorable trip.

This year we went with our kids ( 6 year old and 2 year old). We intially gone to kesroli but did not find it suitable So, we requested to change it neemrana fort and great fully their sales head mr bhatt did it for us on short notice. This time we stayed for 3 nights. 2 night in tulsi mahal which is just below the kaath mahal and last day in munna mahal which is just behind the amphiteater. Both room were excellent. The real experience for kids to live in rooms which provide flavor of royalty and they really enjoyed it. This time we spent more time on pool as kids prefers the same. Saw camels, monkeys and peacocks which kids really liked. In morning time peacocks calls each other with shrill voice which my 2 year old like much and she always replied the peacocks back in their voice. Kids enjoyed this trip thoroughly Since we went in summer and it was 35-40 degree we spent afternoon in rooms.. So we kept few kids games like cards and ludo and enjoyed the same with family. it is typically early morning and evening when we explored the fort property. This time we decide to explore nearby place and had lunches in nearby restaurant for change and find food equally well. We did breakfast and dinner at hotel and food was excellent too. It was breezy in morning and evening and that is when we did most of the explorations.
Staff is courteous and very pleasant and they maintain high quality cleanliness in this facilty.

enjoyed the entire 4 days thoroughly and loved each moment spent in the fort. Special thanks to Mr Satish for ensuring that we do not find any issues and surprising us by birthday cake for my wife.

Tip -
1. the best part of the hotels is that each room is different and provide a flavor to heritage. This time we stayed 3 days in two different room and enjoyed the experience well. So, if you are staying for more than 2 days . try different room at different part of the fort.

2. Also, although food is excellent but if you want some flavor change - try lunch on some highway hotels. there are few good one around. Avoid going on highway at dinner.

3. 2 swimming pools. Lower Swimming pool is for kids and it is just above the spa. it is nice one for family. Couples prefer the deeper one at higher level which is more private. Bring your own costume, tubes and other kids accessories. Hotel provide some of these but then there must be other families also and it is provided on first cum first serve basis.

4. Lot of hiking with steep heights and hence it is better to explore a area of fort and then relax and then do the other area. We changed rooms on third day - So kids explored one side in first two days and then other side on last day.

5. Camel ride can be done but the step well (bawari) is in pathetic condition and being from rajasthan itself i have seen better maintained bawaris. Anyway this is something out of the fort. So, if you never seen a bawari - Go explore else skip.

6. Keep some indoor games with you as afternoon are pretty hot in summer and hence you can not explore the fort or prefer to swim. So, enjoy your room/view with some games.

7. keep few band-aids with you. It is heritage property and hence lots of stone stairs. You might get some bruise if you are not careful and you have two extra adventurous kids like me :)

Room Tip: check out rooms details on nemmrana website. All rooms are good. Discuss the nature of trip on neemr...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your warm and appreciative review about the Neemrana Fort-Palace heritage resort near Delhi.

It is heartening to learn that you were able to relax at the property and enjoyed the ambience and the views from your rooms Kaath Mahal, Tulsi Mahal and Munna Mahal. This is exactly what we strive to achieve and it is always heartening when someone at the receiving end can sense the effort and the love.

Your appreciation about the staff at the property has been conveyed to the entire team.

As you are aware, at Neemrana we try and keep a balance between old-world charm and modern amenities so that the past is not completely obliterated. We are glad to learn that you enjoyed the same.

Our buffets offer a wide variety of cuisine – be it Indian, Continental, with a few Oriental dishes added at random to suit different palettes. Also, The common room has a television that can be viewed by guests and some board games for children.

With reference to your feedback about the step-well, it was in a rather ruined state when the Neemrana team first saw it. There were no railings and people could fall into it and all the side rooms had no roofs. It was then restored by us a few years ago ,and we were hoping to put a gate at the entrance which could be locked in the evening to keep the unwanted elements out. However, since it was outside the Fort, it was under the Rajasthan Government’s charge ! We have no way to stop people from drinking there or urinating there. And no amount of persuasion can bring a civic sense in the average citizen, alas. Even Neemrana, which was privately owned was completely vandalized. We, on our own steam, have restored some 30 structures of different sizes against all odds, and with no external help whatsoever.

We thank you for your patronage to the Neemrana brand in India and look forward to welcoming you back for many more memorable getaways.

Warm Regards,
Team Neemrana

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review about the Neemrana Fort-Palace resort near Delhi.

Since the property is tiered over 12 levels with hanging gardens and terraces, it is not as simple to manage as a modern corridor room hotel with guest and service elevators. To ensure quality service by our team, we are therefore obliged to make some systems – especially regarding the meal timings as the area of the Fort-Palace is vast.
Therefore, guests are urged to conform to the restaurant timings as majority of the service staff is from the local area and goes home to their families at the end of the day.

Also, in addition to the vast lunch and dinner buffet we have recently introduced the Maha Burj thali restaurant that serves vegetarian and non-vegetarian Rajasthani thalis on weekends. Also, the Hawa Mahal café offers snacks and tea/coffee.

Further, at Neemrana, common hospitality practices like televisions in rooms are avoided. This is part of our USP. At the hotel, children can use the two swimming pools, enjoy a camel/camel-cart ride or take a vintage car ride around the village, visit the step-well, take a multi-media tour or enjoy the thrilling zip-lining experience. The common room has a television that can be viewed by guests and some board games for children.
Every evening, a Rajasthani folk performance takes places in the outdoor areas adding to the cultural experience to the guests.
Also, a list of activities is communicated to all guests via the brochure that is handed out at check-in, so that the guests may plan their day accordingly.

We thank you for your visit and look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Warm Regards,
Team Neemrana

We had looked forward to a great weekend at the palace and it just did not deliver. Wonderful setting but clearly mismanaged. Check in was confusing, tips galore. Room was nice but cold. A small space heater just did not get the room comfortable. The bar was understaffed and the few waiters had a very fine sense of ignoring any clients. The food buffet was okay but served in a very non-palace type dining hall.

Definitely does not deserve the "palace" label.

We do not plan to return.

Room Tip: Ask for an outward facing room. Worth the extra cost.

Dear Guest,

We are sorry to learn that your visit to the Neemrana Fort-Palace did not work out as expected.

At the hotel reception, there are two desks separately designated for check-in and check-out with trained personnel to ensure smooth and quick check-in procedure. Also, on weekends usually the counters are a bit busier than usual. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Neemrana has a range of rooms from INR 3000 to INR 25000. The room size, decor, and bathroom amenities are in accordance with the price. The heritage wing has some rooms which are small or quirky in the lower categories while others are rather grand. Do inform our Sales team about your requirements and they shall gladly assist you in finding a suitable room whenever you choose to stay with us next.

In order to maintain such a gigantic property, Neemrana employs a large local staff from the neighbouring village which strives hard to deliver quality service. The ratio of staff to the number of rooms is 2:1 unlike the international hospitality norm of 1:1. We apologise for any delay in the service that could have been caused and the feedback has been shared with the service team at the hotel.

We are surprised to receive your feedback about the dining hall as this is usually a highlight of the property and the experience is enjoyed by our clientele. Nevertheless we have conveyed your feedback to the team and we do hope that you will give us an opportunity to overlay your past experience with a fresh and memorable one in the future.

Warm Regards,
Team Neemrana
