“excellent hotel, worth a 4 star, first-class breakfast”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

Excellent hotel, rated a 3 star plus, but deserves a 4th star. Nice rooms with perfect finished details, clean, good bed, quiet. A few more English or Dutch tv stations would be great. Friendly staff. Had a nice meal in the à la carte restaurant Bunta. Good cocktails. The breakfast was first-class. Been to many hotels now and never had such an extensive breakfast. And also they refill everything even 30 minutes before closing of the breakfast. A breakfast as it should be everywhere. We couldn't try everything because there was so much choice. Pity we only stayed 1 night. The park is also nice, not so crowded, lots of clean toilets, nice rides, great choice of different snacks and restaurants. Real 'Deutsche Grundlichkeit'!

This hotel is perfact for staying in the Park. The staff is great and efficient, the rooms are full equipted and the Park is very close. Just note that there is no direct excess to the Park but it is so close it almost does not matter. The facilities for Kids in the hotel are estonishing.

We stayed for a few nights to visit the amusement park and some relatives. The children loved the theme of the hotel and finding "jungle" play equipment hidden in corridors! The restaurants and bar area were all excellent, serving great food and a large selection of drinks. The staff were very friendly too. Overall, a great stay.

i was positively surprised by the outstanding service and the hotel as such which was well worth the money. the staff was very friendly at every time. I recommend the a la carte restaurant bantu which was an excellent dinner and perfect service. the only thing that was less good was the fact that there was no direct access gate to the parc so that you have to walk along the road (car traffic) to one of the main entrances, berlin or chinatown.

The hotel is actually not worth the $200 or more for two people, but after paying so much a lot of people would feel bad leaving a negative review. But well:
-bad service
- the stuff there: not professional at all, very slow, uncoordinated
- the rooms rather small, but depends on what you're used to
- not to mention that there is no swimming pool, no gym (fitness center), no coffee machine in the room, bathroom supplies are scarce
-the lobby bar is a disaster do not go there

The list can go on for a while.

Overall pretty disappointing. Gonna check out the Asian hotel there to see if it's any different.
If you've never been to a normal hot before you're going to like it or accept if at least.
Good Luck!

We stayed at the Hotel Matamba for one night and found it to be a pleasant stay. The entire hotel is set up a lot like an embassy suites where you have the center area and the rooms circle around it. This leads to a very open feeling. The theme is well executed, and the room was very clean. The only reason I cannot give this hotel a five, is simply for the fact that it needs a pool! The theme could be perfect in a tropical pool setting.

We really enjoyed the characters walking around the hotel, and found there were more characters here than at Disneyland Paris! Our kids loved it.

We would definitely stay again, but only when cooler when we wouldn't desperately long for a pool.

Room Tip: Definitely pay extra for the balcony. It has some chairs and is definitely worth it.
