Great place to go from Almora. Go with a wish. Come back with a bell if it is fulfilled. You see people making pacts with God on a stamp paper and letters. Lots and lots of bells of all sizes.

1. We stopped on our way to Jageshwar to pay our respects to the deity Golu Devta.
2. He is an incarantaion of Gaur Bhairav and locals believe that His justice is supreme.
3. Temple campus has so many bells that you come to believe this.
4. If you pass by then you must pay a visit.

It is just another temple with many bells and wishes clad to it's every wall. The thing I didn't like about this was that innocent animals are sacrificed here in name of God which is very wrong and one should avoid such places.

Chitai Temple is dedicated to Golu Devta, an incarnation of Gaur Bhairav and is a local Kumauni god.. It is located Eight KMS from Almora. The deity of this sacred temple is reputed to make every wish come true, provided the worshipper ask for it with a clear conscience... All Golu Devta asks for in propitiation is a bell, as is evident from thousands of bells strung across the temple premises... The people of kumaun have immense faith in Golu Devta & he is the most worshipped God in Kumaun...Anyone can even seek Golu Devta's divine intervention by writing to him..Stacks of letters are pinned all over the temple along with the bells... Golu Devta is also known as God of Justice..
