We visited this place during December 2015 and what an amazing experience we had at
this place ..The best part of himadri guest house for me was the fabulous look at the
himalayan ranges covered with snow while sipping your favourite bevarage :-) .
My wife loved the hygiene maintained in the room and around
We were traveling with our 2 year old daughter and she enjoyed playing / running in the
huge terrace which is right in front of the room and was the best part of the guest house for me.
Their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable.Trek from this guest house to syahi devi
temple on the top was a very good experience ..guest house owner helped us with all the
enthusiasm to plan our time so that we can make every bit of it more enjoyable and a major
advantage of this place is that it is just by the main road.Food was very good here and you
have a lot of options to choose from and the attached kitchen can make your time more comfortable
when you are traveling with kids.
Shitlakhet is a quiet place and is next to heaven for a nature loving person and stay at himadri
guest house is icing on the cake.

I visited the Himadri Guest House in the month of November. Its really beautiful place. Full of natural beauty.Perfect place to enjoy the viewing Nandadevi Peak,Trishul and others snow coverd peaks of great Himalyan range.
Overall very good. Nice cozy rooms beautiful wooden interiors and clean bathrooms. Attached kitchen is really useful though we didn’t use that. Staff service has been up to the mark. Staff were very modest n friendly. Breakfast was refreshing after morning trek to Shyahidhar Temple.Food is good specially the pahadi dishes “PALAK KA KAAPA, JHUNGAR BHAT, KHOYE KA BEDU. Freshly cooked typical pahadi food has a yummy nostalgia.
It has been really a wonderful and memorable experience Overall Hope to visit there again.
From the narrow roads to the wide himalayan range, shitlakhet is a diverse raw land and its purity and hospitality can b understood once you stay at HIMADARI GUEST HOUSE. Treks, wildlife and wide range of plants can be witnessed once you are here. Landscape rising from the hilly villages to white spreaded himalayas gives a surreal beauty to the eyes and you can live this when you sit on a chair in the verandah. You get your own kitchen to have a taste of your hand and a cheerful stay for the cooking lovers. Their hospitality removes all the day's tiredness and refreshes for the next day. It is a place to stay and get to know the hills and the diverse forest of shitlakhet and develop love and care towards nature. You can have a variety of pahari food developed by the people of shitlakhet provided by the guest house.
I got the reference about Himadri Guest house from a friend. Well, I was lucky enough to travel when it was about to snow & I really enjoyed in plenty of snowfall. The best part of this place is, Its surrounded by nature & Himalayas. I have visited each and every place in Uttarakhand, but USP of this place is, from left to right "full view of Himalayas", the view which is very rare. Its a unexplored and quite area. The ease to getting the place was really nice, just connected to main road. I have even visited this place in Summers & the place is pretty cool.
Regarding the Quality of stay, one cannot question but apart from all the other amenities, I was really impressed by the wooden polished floors, and walls.
An another great point to mention is, "When I woke up in the morning, I saw the amazing view of Golden Himalayas bathing in rays of sun, from my bed itself"
Regarding the food, I ordered & it was good enough & even I had option to cook my own food as kitchen was available. My next long stay will include this utilization ;) :P
Mr Gajendra Pathak, owner of the Guest house & Staff were very much friendly & being a nature lover and environment activist he introduced us to this unexplored area in such a great way, that I have recommended my many friends to this place. I really like the location of this guest house, as I treated this as an mid way boarding & visited some places like kausani, Dwarahat, Birth place of Pt Govind ballabh Pant (Around 8-10 Kms from Himadri Guest House) & returned back at Night.
I trekked through near by areas n forests & really it made my trip complete even the overated hill stations cannot be compared with this place.
One can reach Himadri Guest House, Shitlakhet, Almora either through Almora or through Ranikhet. Its Mid way between both (around 35Kms from both Almora & Ranikhet). Do not forget to eat chhola and aalu at small shop in Kosi (While coming from Almora)
To summarise, "If u are a nature lover & want to visit himalayas & a very peaceful place, then u must visit this place once"
