Dabirahe is a nice, peaceful resort overlooking the Lembeh Strait. We stayed there for four nights in December. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially since the resort is pretty isolated from outside restaurants and entertainment. We ate at the hotel for almost every meal, which was fine since the food was decent. The drive from Manado to Lembeh Hills is about 3 hours. The hotel will tell you 2 hours, but with traffic and everything, it comes out to being 3 or more hours. We did the drive one day to snorkel in Bunaken, which was worth the drive and absolutely amazing. The rooms and bathrooms at Dabirahe were nice, clean, and simple. I only snorkel, and as far as that goes, I saw enough cool creatures and critters in Lembeh to make me happy.

The only downside of staying here was the isolation. The Lembeh Strait is a great place, but this isolation meant that in addition to food options, we really didn't have too many options for snorkel packages, car packages, and other tour packages. We booked everything with the hotel, which made the trip quite expensive overall. I would probably stay closer to Manado next time. That said, Dabirahe would be a great hotel for divers, honeymoon couples, and young families.

Room Tip: Get a room closer to the entrance.

As the name implies, this resort is situated over the hill overlooking the lembeh strait with spectacular view and close to nature. The staff took great efforts to make our dive vacation a lovely and memorable one. An excellent place to bring along children and elderly that caters to their activities. My niece of 10 years old even got her certification as a Scuba ranger which she was so proud of. Highly recommended if anyone wish to have a worry free dive holiday with family!

Room Tip: The villa is spacious enough for an extra bed and kids could still run around. 2 villas are connecte...

The resort has a beautiful view, nice staff, many diving areas (available for day and night diving), clean and neat room. In my opinion, this resort need to concern more about internet connection (available only in front desk area and restaurant, hardly connect and unstable often), because mobile network's signal is very poor (maybe because of the terrain). The room has a mini compo you can connect to play music or video directly from your iPod/iPhone, unfortunately, i have none of them. The bath tube is made of stone (or something similar to it), very unique, but it has no bath tube stopper. In spite of those drawbacks, I had a very good experience. IMHO, I recommend this resort for couple/honeymoon and for divers.

Room Tip: Rooms near to the lobby (TV 1A and TV 1B, if i weren't wrong) are able to access the internet. T...

A nice hotel in a great setting and probably the best value in the area in my opinion. Lovely views overlooking the straits to Lembeh Island, big clean rooms and nice bathroom with alfresco features. The pool area is very nice, as you can tell from the pictures and the restaurant area had similarly nice views. I enjoyed my stay there and if I came back to Lembeh it would be the resort I’d choose again. When I booked it seemed to be the comfortably the cheapest good quality option (i.e. nice pool and big rooms in my view). Free airport pick up and drop off. I also did 3 days diving with their dive shop and that was awesome, very helpful dive instructors (Rony or Roby I can’t remember which….), who was very flexible. I had heard of a dive site I particularly wanted to do that and he changed his plans to facilitate, similarly I wanted to see a mimic Octopus and he took me to the best spot for that. A couple of reasons I don’t give it five stars. I felt the diving was a little bit on the pricey side, if you booked as package with accom it would have been significantly cheaper. I didn’t and was prepared to pay a bit more, but it was still a bit more than expected. I also remember it was USD30 for a days equipment hire (even if just for one dive) which I really felt was too much. Also the restaurant only seemed to be open for meal times which struck me as strange (they would have got a lot more of my money if open for longer hours!), but it was pretty quiet when I was there so that might have been the reason. The food itself was mainly pretty good, nice mains tuna steak, grilled prawns etc but the deserts looked like theyd come straight from a pack. In summary a good place and friendly staff, great setting and awesome diving and the best value in the area in my opinion

About the only good thing is the location and staff. The bad is that ,it is too far away from town. A long walk to the beach below which I did not try. The food is nothing to write home about. For the rates they charged it is certainly not worth it.

Really enjoyed my time there at the resort - one of the best dive holidays ever. The resort itself is very picturesque. The dive guides really paid attention to the divers from the start of the check dive to the cleaning of the guests' equipment at the end (I never really cleaned my gears that thoroughly!). The dive manager (Reza) is very attentive. The variety of the animals at the divesites are a-ma-zing! - really heaven on earth for small critters. I cannot recommend enough. Thanks everyone at the resort. The service is five star! Would definitely go back.
