First of all, if you are struggeling doing the tour or not: DO IT!

It has been one of the most amazing things I ever did in my life. Dessy and Arif are so helpful and caring, they do everything to make their guest feel happy and comfortable. Dessy is an impressive woman who can organize everything you need. :) She took care of my flight booking, train ticket, hotel, asked for food allergies or special needs...

Arif guided us (Im a solo traveller but for the tour Dessy found 2 other girls and we shared the boat, which meant less to pay and a lot of fun!) trough the rainforest and told us everything about Orang-Utans, all the other monkeys and apes, birds, bugs and plants. He is so well educated, speaks excellent english and you can learn a lot if you listen to him. But the most important thing is that he really, really loves his job! He's been so excited every time we spotted an animal or took a great picture! :) It has been like: WHOOOAAA, did you see that? WOW, look over there! - the whole time! Because Arif knows the Rainforest so well and is such a good lookout, we have seen wild and semi-wild Orang-Utans (not only at the feeding stations!), gibbons, long tail makakes, squirrels, a lot of birds&bugs.

The life on bord has been very chilled, great food (thanks to the cook), cold drinks and sleeping with the sound of the jungle :) The whole crew has been so lovely!

There are no words to express how I loved doing this trip! Im taking home a lot of unforgettable memories and many, many great pictures. I believe this may be a once in life time experience and I am so glad I did it!

Thank you so much for everything! 😙😙😙

Me and a friend took the 3 day tour. We loved it! We asked in several places but from the begging, Dessy was very kind and answered our questions very fast, so we decided to stay with them. Along the way she helped us so much with every issue we had!

The tour is very good. The most important Is that Arif is also very kind and has a lot of knowledge about the flora and fauna of the park, and of course about the orangutans. It was very good to have him as a guide, he answered every question we had and told us a lot of interesting things about the animals in the park.
The encounters with the orangutans were very beautiful and special.

We asked for the bigger boat with shower (recommended, it's only a little more expensive and totally worth it). The food was delicious, the cook was very good. We were never hungry :). All the crew was good.i recommend 100% taking the tour with orangutan applause, they have a very good service. And the kindnes of Dessy is

(Arif and Dessy, if you are reading this, thanks again for everything! It was an unforgettable experience :) )

Dear Carolina, thanks for reviewing our tour services. Of course, we read it, and we are so happy to see that you were enjoying the journey in Tanjung Puting National Park with house boat. I will always remember when we are standing on the front deck and stretching our own nationality flag, hehe... Thanks for visiting here, it really help for the future of Orangutan, Forest, Biodiversity and people around the park. I am so happy that you like the meals on the boat. Have a nice journey, traveler...

This Orangutan trip has been one of the most beautiful things I did during my four weeks I stayed in Indonesia! I recommend everybody to do it! The guide, Arif, knows everything around orangutans, monkeys, cocodrils, birds, etc. you can find during the trip abd he will answer all your questions and he is so kind! And the life in the boat is a really nice experience! Sleeping there, you can see as many as stars I have ever seen! Amazing! And the meals are so good! But the most important thing is you can see orangutans so close during the excursions to the jungle! They are so smart and funny! I would like also to thank Dessy for all the organization and the logisitics! Everything was perfect! I will encourage all my friends visiting Indonesia to do this trip! Such an amazing experience! :)

Traveled last August with my girlfriend and had this amazing experience (sorry for not leaving comment any sooner).

Before you arrive: Arif and Dessy were kind and very trustworthy from the very beginning. They took care of everything and offered their help on any issue they were able to help with. Booking flights, any additional info.. whatever they could help with, Dessy is in charge for you.

About the trip itself: We spent 2 nights on the river. To be fair I must say it was the exact amount of time you need. If you go less you do not get to do the full experience. More time is repetitive, since there is only 3 orangutan parks open to visitors (couple of friends did that one).

We accesed the parks as everyone else does, same time for every boat. We notice that Arif did not mind at all to go the last one, to stay as much or as little as we wanted. We actually stayed on 2/3 parks a while after everyone left. There, alone with the orangutans couple meters ahead. AMAZING
On our second night we did a night treckking. We saw nobody else doing this. REAL COOL STUFF. We saw a lot of animals with the local ranger and Arif as guides. You like nature? ask Arif for this, you wont regret it.

About the crew: Arif speaks good English. He has a nice conversation and knows when you need your own space or when you are looking for some conversation or fun facts. The other people around the boat are always the same guys we were told. You wont notice they are there unless they spot something its worth a watch (crocodiles, cool birds, wired reptiles...). Very good local cooking is done by the cooker too.

About the price: I can just say we saw people paying much less and they were disappointed on how their trip was run. Good food, good crew, good guide. Fluent English speaking is not as common as you might think over there. We did not share the boat, altough I must say there is room for another 1/2 people, with you not even noticing.

My very personal opinion: Arif is the kind of guide you want to have. He has "the twinkle in the eye" you can just see on people that love what they do. That is the most important thing for me, he makes your stay really enjoyable and you do learn a lot by his side.

Animals we saw: Orangutans, Makakos, Narigudos, Crocodile (two types), big reptile (like the komodo, smaller version). BIG ants. Night trekking: Frog, Bat, baby tarantulas, Buterfly...cool birds... and lot more of other I surely not remember now.

Thank you guys, see you on our next adventure!

Incredible trip. Not only that Tanjung Puting is a unique place, but experiencing human interaction with those orangutans is just incredible. I got teary. Accompanied by Orangutan Foundation staff and Dr. Biruti herself, Tanjung Puting is just memorable! Highly recommended!
