We stayed for 2 nights in room 5 . A large room with large clean bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The food was the star of the show; lovely breakfasts and great risotto and sea bass. Friendly helpful staff. A great base to visit the area. We went to Aldeburgh, Southwold, Framlingham castle and Sutton Hoo.

Thank you, Saxmundham is a great base to visit many of the heritage sights and coastal towns. We do pride ourselves on the quality of our food.

Not a great deal goes on in Saxmundham but it’s a very nice area. The sax is a nice clean hotel to put your head down. Ate an evening meal there and a couple of breakfasts. Food very good, wine not expensive And staff very attentive

I definitely recommend this venue for a short break. We enjoyed a 2 night stay with evening meal and wine. The staff were very welcoming and the accommodation was very comfortable. It appears that some re-decoration is in progress and there was a fresh smell of paint about the place. Breakfast was superb and plentiful and there was plenty of choice. A note about parking: If you choose to park in the pay and display, don't bother paying for the full 24 hours if you are going for a day trip in the morning, if you park after 6pm, the charge does not start until the next morning, so if you pay for 1 or 2 hours after 6pm, you are covered until 9 or 10 the next morning.

We loved this hotel - the staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our visit. The kitchen serves up delicious food, a nice range of choices and good value - it's clear that the restaurant is popular and a destination for locals. The village is in a good location for
exploring - we had a great few days visiting Orford Ness, Blythebury and Southwold. It was a perfect weekend.

Stayed 2 nights and we were very lucky to choose the few days when we had the 'heat wave' in April, what a difference it makes when the sun shines! The Bell at Sax is situated in the middle of this very pretty market town. Parking can be found 2 minutes walk away in a public car park, £2.30 per 24 hours. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the main street (no noticeable noise), a nice big room and large bathroom, Very clean and comfy with all the facilities needed to make our stay very enjoyable. We ate dinner in the restaurant on our first night in a small cosy room and the food on offer was well cooked pub food using local ingredients. Breakfast had lots of choice, be warned if you go with the full English it's huge!
The hotel has a very comfy well stocked public bar and is favoured by friendly locals. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.
As mentioned, the town is very pleasant and Wednesday is market day held next to the hotel. For those looking to get out and about, Aldeburgh is 15 minutes drive and Southwold around 35 minutes away.

The Bell at Sax is a great place to use as a base to tour all that's on offer in the area. As mentioned we were very lucky with the weather and had to buy sun tan lotion going home with a nice glow. We look forward to next stay at The Bell.
