“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 December 2009

Extended stays here in November and December. GREAT PLACE!!!
Pro's
Staff is fantanstic (this is an understatement)and all requests are promptly attended to. Rooms are very large and well appointed. Bathrooms are luxurious and have "rainfall" showers. The parking lot is gated with 24 hr security.
Business travelers--while this is a resort hotel it functions well for business. The restaurant/bar, while pricey, is at least 4 star. Internet access is great with individual wifi in each room. And if you are on extended travel there is a full kitchen. Beds are kingsize and very comfortable and as mentioned above, the rainfall shower works great as a recharge. Rooms are quite and private.
Con's for business travelers
The hotel is some distance from downtown Miami so if you have a 9AM meeting plan for the "morning drive" in Miami traffic. There is not any place in the rooms to set up that laptop but I found the dining area functions ok for this. The dining area chairs will challenge you after a few hours however.

We went to Miami in June to celebrate a family function. The Blue were actually apartments with fully equipped kitchens and spacious living rooms. The apartment we opted for had 3 large bedrooms with attached bathrooms in all, and in the living room area there was a large sofa bed too. In total there were 9 adults and 2 children staying.

The apartment was so big that im sure we could have accomodated more people if we wished to. All the modern amenities were available in the kitchen, including a dishwasher and large family sized fridge.

The bathrooms were spacious, and the master bathroom even had a flat TV screen inside . Fully carpeted and centrally air conditioned.

One drawback we found was the service at check in desk, they did not meet our group needs on a few occasions. However in compensation we were given a late checkout and free breakfast service.

The location of this resort was not central to the city, but hiring a car meant having quick access to all the main malls and other areas of interest.

The pool area was beautiful, especially with children. Overall a very modern, tastefully decorated and comfortable resort with plenty of space for large families and baggage.

This is the most comfortable, spacious and peaceful room I used in Miami in years. As the last reviewer said, the guard at the entrance must have stock since he made me feel at home as soon as I opened the car window. When I got to the lobby I was already greeted by name at the door. They charge for early (before 3PM) Check in or late (After 11AM) check out. I think they should reduce that gap. Used the gym and it was equipped with all the usual, location is right in the middle of Doral and serves as a great hub for meetings.I would ask for a second floor room next time since they had serious worm issues at my room being on ground floor, I guess because of the golf course. The place looked so good that I did not make that big of a deal about it but should be taken care of. Would stay here again and again and again.

My husband and i had the occasion of staying at the Blue,November 12-13,while we conducted business in the Doral area.

To start off,let me repeat the old adage "first impressions are lasting".
This certainly holds true because the first impression was created at the security post by the very pleasant and professional security officer who warmly welcomed us and promptly directed us to the concierge.

From that point we constantly came in contact with the wonderful professional staff at the Blue.

Our early check-in was a bit delayed, but they were quite gracious in waiving the fee for same.

The bedroom suite is a definite A !
Words cannot describe the cleanliness and comfort of the suite !
The only Blues we sang is when we had to roll out from under that "cloud 9" comforter in the morning,to face the hassle of a working day.

Yes,The Blue is a full thumbs, fingers and toes up !

We stayed at the Blue with our 17 year old and 10 year old children and had a fabulous time. The rooms were beautiful and so big compared to anything in the UK with two king size beds, a seating area with a sofa bed and dining area. Then there was the outside balcony which looked onto the gold course. Some beatuiful sunsets were seen from there. The kitchenette was a great touch, as was the TV in the bathroom, the only downside to that was trying to get our 10 year old out of the spa bath while she was watching it! The pool area is stunning, we came at the end of October when there was hardly anyone around, on occassions we had the entire pool area to ourselves which was great. The surrounding area is not great, mainly industrial units but there are many many restaurants to choose from Tony Roma's being one great place for ribs! You definately need a car to get about, and a SAT NAV!!! But saying that the main tourist areas are within a 20 minute drive, unless you want to go to Key West which takes 4 hours, but well worth the drive. The staff at The Blue are very friendly and helpful, one in particular, James Brown, helped us out so much on one particular occassion. (Thanks again James!) This is certainly a place I would come again. With the weather reaching all time highs for this time of year too (32 degrees), this was certainly a great time to visit.

If you like a bit of luxury for a reasonable price, this resort is an ideal place to spend a few days. I chose this, for the same price you would pay for some disgusting dump in South Beach. You get so much better value for your dollar.

The Blue is not for the party animals or families with young children. It is suited for the mature couple, business people, or for a quiet romantic weekend for couples. Just the place to Pamper yourself and relax!

The rooms are beautiful, everything is exactly as illustrated in the pictures, and the location is quiet and peaceful.

I had a room overlooking the golf course, I think they all do. Very peaceful and quiet, Even though the airport is close by, no problems with aircraft noise when inside.

This is a security gated complex, and as you would expect, nothing but the best in service at the front desk and other hotel staff.

Obviously you will need a car, as the location is somewhat isolated from any nearby conveniences or attractions.

I had a rental car, and found the drive to the beaches, Gables, Everglades etc very easy. The surrounding location apart from the golf course, is not pretty, you are surrounded by an industrial area and a busy main road, but thanks to the good design of the rooms facing the golf course away from the main road, you do not hear any noise.

There is a good restaurant on site, but the rooms also have fully equipped kitchens if you feel like cooking your own meals.

So if Doral is OK for you, then this is a perfect hotel for short or long term.

Love the gorgeous Blue resort in Miami, FL. It is located at the Doral golf course and offers everything from studio suites to multiple bedroom apartment-styled facilities. The rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated and the view of the golf-course is unmatched.

We loved the pool and jacuzzi area. The bartender is fabulous! The restaurant was very good and the staff members we came in contact with were top-notch. With a semi-full kitchen we were able to prepare some of our own meals, too.

We liked the location on this beautiful golf course although you do have to drive or cab to nightlife, restaurants, the beach, etc... This did not poise a problem for us, though. We managed to have a great time staying at the property two nights and venturing out the other two.

This was a business trip that was extended into a mini-getaway and The Blue was perfect for a group traveling together.

I have to mention one more thing: The Showers! I am still dreaming of that incredible rain shower!
