“Great for jogging with running shoes”
Review of Central Beach

Central Beach
Reviewed 21 July 2018

The main thing that I liked of this beach is that it is long and wide, and I found it good for me to jog on it without the shoes sinking in the sand. It’s got a stripe of firm sand appropriate to either walking or jogging. I also liked that there is path for bicycles along the beach, so one can choose which lane to follow. There are several bars, restaurants and other stands in front of the beach. There is a lot of high buildings along the beach. The ocean here is wavy, so it is attractive for people who like it, but at the same time care should be taken to avoid treacherous currents. Atmosphere is in general nice for relaxing or having some dynamic activity.

Having visited Balneário Camboriú many times over the last 15 years we have enjoyed many a happy holiday here.
The town benefits from a very long and sandy beach with calm waters and a wealth of bars and restaurants along its length on Av. Atlantica with shops and other amenities a short walk away on Av. Brasil which runs parallel to the beach.
The beach can become very busy over the summer months especially during the weekends and around carnival. The southern end of the beach is generally quieter than the central area in front of Ilha das Cabras.
At the southern end of the beach you can take the cable car up to Parque Unipraias Camboriu whilst at the northern end of the beach there are walkways leading to the lovely beaches Prainha and Praia do Buraco. Next to the entrance to the cable car is a great children’s playground and a stone walkway which takes you out into the bay.

This is a very nice beach right in front of the city's downtown. The sand shore is not so large, but the water is relatively calm and the temperature wasn't so cold. Without a doubt, the proximity to the city and the hotels make this beach one of the most convenient and easily accessible ones. Totally recommended.
