“Wonderful stay in Wakefield”
Reviewed 15 January 2014

My wife and I recently stayed at this B&B for 4 nights to access skiing in Gatineau Park. The new owner, Shana, provided us with a warm welcome and excellent service. She has kept the tradition of this inn of serving memorable breakfasts. This is one of my favourite B&B's and we plan to make it part of a tradition of visiting Wakefield in the winter!

For anyone seeking a wonderful experience of cross country skiing and fine dining, Wakefield is the best spot, both affordable and excellent services!

Les Trois Erables offers a quiet, peaceful, very hospitable place to stay. The rooms are all charming and very well taken care of. We loved each breakfast catered to our gluten free preference. And enjoy delicious bakeries, 4 start restaurants and amenities just steps away along the Gatineau River. Equally convenient is the best cross country skiing - 5 min drive - away in the Gatineau Park.

Overall an excellent experience thanks to Shana and Bruce!

A wonderful stay on Christmas night on a beautiful evening. Les Trois Erables has character, tradition and as a bonus has great owners. Have stayed there before and it is always a pleasure. Keep up the good work, Shana and Bruce

Room Tip: Any room would be be fine - just ask Shana to explain

My wife and I stayed here five years ago on our wedding night, and returned last night to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Les Trois Erables is as charming as ever. We stayed in the Gatineau Room, which has a wonderful shower, a entrancing gas fire (which was specially lit for our arrival!), excellent wifi access, a comfortable king size bed - in short everything was very comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent, parking very easy, and our entire experience was lovely. Happy to recommend!

We visited Les Trois Erables in September 2013 for one night to attend the Wakefield Midnight River Run. Shana was an outstanding host and we felt right at home. There were snacks available and we had a wonderful breakfast the following mooring. Shana has a lot of experience in the tourism industry and it shows. The rooms were clean the atmosphere was great and it made for a wonderful weekend gateway. Highly recommended.

This review is very overdue! I promised Shana that I would be more than happy to give this B&B a glowing review after staying here for one night in August. We have been to many B&B's and there are usually a few things you could take or leave. Our biggest pet peeves are when the owners donot give you enough privacy, or you feel like there are too many rules! Not so with this experience! Shana greeted us warmly, gave us the tour, and basically told us to make ourselves at home.. we were welcome to use the gardens, verandah and common areas of the Inn, and appreciated the homey touches.. a kitchen equipped with cold and hot beverages, cookies, snacks, plates and utensils, and pretty much everything we needed to have our picnic. There is a pillow cupboard with extra blankets and pillows for your use, just in case you are not happy with what is on your bed. We stayed in the Gatineau Room, which was a large and very comfortable space. There is a very modern bathroom and a small balcony (which was an excellent spot for a late afternoon glass of wine). Breakfast was delicious with the table set with a wonderful array of antique dishes. We had no idea that by going for such a short drive from Ottawa to Wakefield we would feel like we were so far away from it all, and really enjoyed our stay in the area. We appreciated the followup email we got once we got home, thanking us for staying with them. Shana and Bruce are doing a wonderful job of restoring this historical home and it's property and we wish them all the best!

This was my first trip to any bed and breakfast. The bar is now set very high!!! A lovely circa 1880's home located facing the Gatineau river. A peaceful and quiet setting as one pulls into the laneway. Shana greeted us at the door and we were invited into this lovely clean and gorgeous home. After a brief tour to show us the rooms and tell us the history, we settled in to the Geggie room on the third floor. Comfy bed, loads of space and a sitting area with a great view of the river. Again, spotless!!
Breakfast is a three course food festival with combinations of fruits, dairy and protein creatively presented and tasting wonderful. There is plenty to amuse oneself in Wakefield even on the rainiest day of the fall. I highly recommend this B&B and will be back!!
