We stayed one night at the Hotel Statt to rest up after taking the train from Oslo and before continuing on with our travels.
It served that purpose very well, with comfy beds and a practical room layout, complete with iron and ironing board.
It's a short hop from the station - no more than a couple of minutes walk.
This hotel mainly caters to business customers I would guess. It's a no-frills place that won't wow you and won't disappoint either. The business clientele is quite consistent with the location, as Katrineholm is hardly a tourist drawcard, even though it's pleasant enough as small regional centres go.
Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was generous and had enough choices to please most palates.
Tips: use the railway underpass to get to the main town square for shopping and food. For sightseeing Julita Gard (farm museum) is in the local area, if you have a car.
