“When visiting Venice, a boat ride to Murano is a must! Take time to visit an authentic factory and by only objects and jewelery”
Reviewed 2 June 2011

Beautiful island a short boat ride from piazza San Marco - allow at least half a day and take in the charms of the most ancient skill.
Every time I visit I enjoy it a little more!

“Marvellous Theatre of Glass Blowing”
Reviewed 15 November 2008

Like all tourists, we went to Murano to see and buy Venetian Glass.
What we really wanted to see was the glass being made and this was possible, with a flourish at Formia Fornace.
Tourists were encouraged to wander through, but on the outside looking in, the glass blowing factory.
Artisans were making all sorts of different pieces from scratch so you could stand and watch nothing become something beautiful right before your eyes. Most pieces we watched took about 10-15 minutes to make and although not required, most spectators rewarded the "show" with a coin in the glass jar.
A fabulous hour spent watching most beautiful artistry.
