Can't fault anything about this hotel. Good location for transport links to airport, Venice and other islands. Good breakfast. Helpful and attentive staff. The rooms were quiet, I think a previous reviewer mentioned they are sound proofed. I hadn't realised someone was hoovering in the hall outside our room until we opened the door to leave.
Unless you are happy to pay for private taxis the. You may find late night revelling in Venice difficult as public transport only runs until around midnight. I think it does start again around 5 am so if you stay out really late you will be ok :)
As I am English I will agree with one other reviewer. It would have been nice to have a cup of tea /hot drink making facilities in the room.
Tip: book your free airport transport with the hotel early as it gets booked up.
Top tip: use the water fountains dotted all around Murano, Venice, and Lido (could be elsewhere but that's all we visited). They are free and there are no issues with the water. They are provided by the government to try to stop tourists and locals throwing away plastic water bottles. An environmentally friendly local authority.

Room Tip: Don't expect excellent views. We were on the ground floor and had no view. This didn't both...

This great new hotel is a perfect place! Murano has a quiet and calm atmosphere compared to the crowd ness of Venice. The hotel is marvelous, has a very good design in several aspects and you are a 25' ride out of Piazza de San Marco in a direct line 7 or a 45' if you want to navigate around the beautiful islands.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this very modern and stylish hotel. As it was our 1st visit to Venice we were slightly concerned that we may be a little far from San Marco, however as we were able to utilise the complimentary boat service this was not a problem at all.
The hotel was very modern and clean and our bed was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and were happy to reserve transportation for us (recommended as it can get booked up rather quickly). There is a Vaparetto stop right outside the hotel which runs frequently if you did not want to use the hotels service which only runs at certain times.
Breakfast was very impressive, the choice was excellent and certainly plentiful, far better than we had anticipated, you could even have Prosecco if you so wished! The lighting was just perhaps a little too bright for our liking, a more subdued light would have given it a more relaxed ambience.
We chose to eat in the hotels restaurant on one of the evenings and found it rather expensive, although most restaurants in Venice usually are! It was somewhat quieter than we expected, being the only other couple dining there, however this should not have resulted in slow service and a feeling of being ignored! The food was well presented & tasty however we found the portions small, and with a long wait between courses we were left feeling hungry. It seems we were lucky to get a dessert at all and no apology was made for the slow service we experienced that evening.
I would have given this hotel an "excellent" rating had it not been for the disappointing service in the restaurant. All in all this hotel is ideal if you prefer to stay away from the hustle & bustle & are happy to take the complimentary boat "James Bond" style to San Marco.

What a lovely surprise this was! We have stayed in Venice before, but decided to take this hotel as part of a 4 day break package. Best decision we have ever made. Venice itself in the school holdiays is incredibly busy, therefore coming back to Murano felt like a peaceful haven! The hotel provide a free shuttle service which is their taxi, and also collected us from the airport. Without this facility, the hotel may not work so well, but with it, you have the best of both worlds. The rooms are lovely, ours was a duplex, well equippped and beautifully decorated. The breakfast selection was delicious, and the food in the restaurant was good too. The restaurant is expensive, be warned, but most things in Venice are! All the staff were helpful and friendly - only tiny niggle was the replenishment of supplies in the bathroom. This varied greatly day to day. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The rooms at the rear have no view at all, but in fairness this didn't detract from our stay. M...

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the LaGare Hotel booked as a birthday weekend for me by my husband. The hotel was absolutely fantastic clean modern contemporary with amazingly comfortable beds. I found the staff at reception and breakfast extremely helpful and friendly. The free transfer service to and from the airport and Venice is great, it is recommended to make reservations early as this can get booked up quickly at peak times, although the Vaparetto stops directly outside the hotel and runs frequently. The breakfast has an excellent choice and as it was my Birthday i took full advantage of having a glass of Prosecco whilst sitting outside in the sunshine to eat breakfast. We dined in the Hotel Restaurant on our first night and would like to thank Oscar for the excellent recommendations he provided us with. The risotto and sea bass were fantastic and set a precedent, the food we had at restaurants near the Rialto bridge the following night was substandard in comparison. I would most definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it. Thank you LaGare, I has a very memorable Birthday weekend :-)

I'm currently staying in the hotel. The room is beautiful, clean & new. The service so far is awesome. The fault is, I swear I booked for a 4 star hotel w/ a gym/spa. There is currently none, it is still being built. I'm so disappointed. :(

We stayed for two nights prior to a cruise, and it was great to be met at the airport by the hotel water boat at no extra cost. The rooms are nice and modern, but ours had a shower rather than a bath, but we didn't realise that there was a choice.

Good stay generally, nice breakfast, and ready to get around, the hotel ran a taxi to Venice, and to be honest it was nice to come back to the quiet of the island after a day in Venice. The glass shops are lovely and we managed to pick up some good gifts to bring back.

The only thing we were disappointed in was the restaurant food, we ordered risotto and it was closer to porridge than what we have had previously, and given the cost of the meal the service was a bit hit and miss. When we saw the risotto on the plate we thought we would get some nice side salads, but despite chasing they never came.

Other than that all good. The hotel no longer supplies a taxi to the cruise terminal and suggests using the hotel water taxi to drop off at the railway and getting the people mover. Big mistake, when 2000 other people are doing the same thing, next time I would pay extra for a water taxi to take us direct to the cruise terminal.
