20 US for room with view of the Lake Victoria from a small balcony, hot water in the shower, good breakfastbuffet. You do get much for your 20USD.
When having lunch or dinner - make sure you are not in a hurry. It takes one hour to get the food- but meanwhile - the view of the lake is marvellous so I can't complain. Food is ok - but check well before using the ketchup... It can be chilisauce poured into a empty bottle of ketchup. I did that mistake.
Staff are always smiling and seem to enjoy their work.

I liked this place and enjoyed the formal reception service of women in suits. Coupled with the well built older room furnishings, it gave a feeling of old world reliability, security and charm. I had several room options but chose a single room in the older building, which appealed. It was small, but adequate - had the feeling of an old school student's room complete with large wooden desk. The fan was adequate for comfort. The hot water requires preheating, which was no big deal - just requires a little planning. It was quiet and comfortable and higher rooms have a great view of Lake Victoria. There is a newer building with larger rooms and included wi fi in the price. Food was very good, staff friendly, but service was slow and some staff had limited english. They clearly do not cater to the 'safari' guest as the kitchen was not familiar with how to prepare a box lunch. The menu practice - which rolled over to the box - is to charge for every item separately. This might work at table service, but pricing for a box where servings are small and usually a few more items in the box is not economically efficient for safari or those in transit. Difficult when there is not many meal options enroute to Uganda. I would definitely recommend for a Bukoba layover.

I haven't stayed in the any of the rooms but, I have eaten here on many occasions and it's a great place to eat. The outside dining area is great, the staff are very friendly and it is a very relaxing place to have an evening meal. The food is tasty, reliable and they seem to have everything available listed on the menu, which is more than a lot of restaurants in the area.

Only ate at the outdoor restaurant and the food was great as long as it didn't need cheese, milk or butter. We had some milk in the car so gave it to them which they appreciated. Service is a bit slow but so friendly and pleasant and heh what's the rush with a location and view like that!

Found the restaurant very clean and a great place to eat that special meal.

That may be nicest thing about this hotel. Rooms are very basic. Although they advertise wifi availability, it pretty much does not work. Hot water lasts only for a few minutes, even if you have the hot water heater on for an hour. There is no a/c but there is a fan. I didn't leave the windows open at night so the room got quite stuffy, especially under the mosquito net. It took at least an hour and a half every night to get dinner. One night it took over two hours.
