Teri, bindi and rob are doing so well and have already made improvements to the zoo.
The work put into the animals welfare and the work put in to making it great for visitors.
in my opinion you need at least 2 days to take it all in. the grounds are vast.

“A wonderful experience”

A wonderful experience

As two nature lovers from Europe we have enjoyed Steve Irwin’s programs since the nineties, and visiting his zoo has been on our bucket list for all those years. I think we were fortunate to visit it off-season (in April) on a sunny day with no crowds. The animals seem well-treated in good environments. I do hope, as others do, that most benefits go towards the well-being of the animals and the zoo. The Irwin family were around and they show to care about the place and the legacy of Steve Irwin. Sure, getting a picture with a koala and petting a wombat (and buying photos…) is very expensive. If you are prepared for above-average prices, you will have a great time. I’m sure there are better zoos in Australia which have better parts or might be better overall, but the Australian Zoo is an unique experience! We were thrilled to have been there.

“Unique fantastic day out .”

Last visited this zoo in 1988 so a massive change now.
Steve was huge in our house and it was good to see that he is celebrated throughout the zoo and will never be forgotten .
Yes entrance fees are more than most attractions but this is not just a zoo .
The conditions the animals are kept in are great and obviously a lot of the money goes back to the animals. The shows are brilliant and we have never seen shows like it before especially the Croc shows. Lots of history and tributes to Steve around the zoo, almost felt like he was still around.
Unbeknown to us we went on the 10th anniversary of the Crocoseum so was great to see the Irwin family cut the birthday cake which was freely given out to all.
We met Terri in the shop by chance and she was amazing taking the time to chat and have photos - a lovely lady who made our day.
Shop prices were surprisingly good value . Altogether a great day out

“Better than any other zoo in Australia.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

We are from NSW and made a 12 hour trip to Kingscliff. Having three children - 6, 2, and a 1 year old we thought we would make the 2 hour trip to Beerwah and miss the theme parks. The price was a little more expensive than other zoos but offers so much more. Being able to see animals out and about and be able to snap shots made for an enjoyable day. We were most impressed with safety- our 2 year old has a tendency to run off and did just that. I informed the first employee I saw and action was immediately taken with all employees in the zoo being informed and were all looking for him. He was found in 5 minutes. We will always be grateful and know that our children are safe there. The croc show was fantastic despite reviews that we had read. Terri, Bindi and Bob were very entertaining and we were glad they were there. Staff are friendly and very helpful and came straight to us when we first arrived and were unsure where to start. Loved how shady it is. Rarely were we in the sun. Overall a great place to take children and was no more expensive than anything else in regard to food and souvenirs.
