First of all the tea room has moved however trip advisor wouldn't let me change it
They're now at BB48AN
A right royal tea party invites you in with an ambience which sets you into a mood of relaxation
The kind of feeling you used to get when going to Grans for Sunday tea without being smothered with lipstick or smelling of carbolic soap and lavender
The tea room is light airy uncluttered and well ventilated it's staffed by friendly people.
The fresh coffee arrived with a China tea cup and the funkiest cafetière I’ve seen in some time.
I decided to plump for the lemon sole goujons whilst the kids went for the spicy chicken tenders
Both arrived with the presentation from someone who care about how things look as well as how they taste.
I was particularly impressed with finer detail - home made tarter sauce for my goujons.
Two rooms welcome you to the taste experience with the bright functionality of the ground floor which delivers breakfast lunches and light bites by Janice and Phil.Alongwith this the upstairs, which is decorated pale pastel shades along with a Kath Kidston touch to the decor, which has more of a hint of prosseco decadence to welcome you to the party
Upstairs is ideal for an intimate family gathering or a girls meeting to prepare for those shopping weekends or hen parties.
Some of the food that I saw going out looked like a study in modern art.
The picnic bench afternoon tea is something to behold.
It belies a meticulous approach which Janice has honed over the years.
Believe me this is not the end point for a right royal tea party
It's just their next steps
I believe there's a distinct opportunity to franchise out if they really wanted to.
