“a very nice walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2014

it's not a long walk up if you start at the parking. About 1 hour
If you don't have your car, you'll need to add 12kms to your walk.
The refugio up there is very cute and serve good pizza.
The walk to see the statues is interesting with very nice views on the moutains

“25 bucks... I don't think so”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 December 2013

I enjoy the path next to El Bosque Tallado, but honestly, 25 bucks for that. Nope. It's not because of the money, but the "service" the guy provides (nothing). I enjoy paying someone who explains about the place, gives you information or at least, smile back to you.

“True Works of Art”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2013

I have never worked so hard to enjoy art. The walk the top of the mountain was dangerous due to the rainfall the night before. It was not hard to imagine what happened to this mountain forty years ago. The entire side of the mountain was washed away and what remained of the mountain were the magnificent trees. Thanks to a group of artisits in the area, a project was born and for the past forty or so years, a new statute has been added to this remarkable project in the sky. At the top of the mountain is a small office manned by a couple who were happy to see people. Each of the statutes were different in style and beauty. Some of them did not look like wooden statutes due to the age of the wood. If you are in the area make your way up the hill you will not be disappointed...Art and Nature what a combination

“Great carvings in the forest and views of the valley”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2013

The taxi takes you most of the way up the hill from town and then it's a 30 min walk to the carved forrest. There are quite a few carvings in among the trees, more than we expected, some really well done, others less so (but it's art, so taste varies of course). Spectacular views of the valley, especially if you continue another hour or so up the hill to the refugio
