We decided to visit Maldon as a last minute plan & when we rang to book a room, we were fortunate that there had been a cancellation. From our first meeting with Kim on arrival to our goodbye to Kim & Gerry, we had a first class experience. Such attention to detail, from the snacks in our room to the candles in the bathroom. After a good nights sleep we came downstairs to such a wonderful breakfast. A wonderful selection & everything excellent quality. We had a wonderful time thank you!

This is not an overnight stay but a lovely experience! Lots of thoughtful touches; very comfy room; yummy breakfast and friendly hosts Kim and Gerry. The views from our room were stunning! Would love to visit again.

This is not just a stay, but an experience! The view from our room was incredible. Lots of lovely touches, such as a bowl of chocolates as you enter the hallway. The breakfast was superb. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Having booked in for valentines weekend we were met with Champagne, chocolates, flowers in the room and an amazing view to boot.

The room has a separate bathroom and overlooks the tall ships. Kim was amazing trying to source us a restaurant on valentines night but instead we ate at the local pub which was just as nice and far more up our street.

Breakfast is to die for with fresh fruit, yogurts local jams, honey, kippers along with the normal bacon sausages etc and certainly keeps you going for the day.

Definitely a place to consider you if want the extra special treatment

Had a wonderful stay at the Hythe in Maldon. We heard about it through Alistair Sawday, and it really is quite luxurious.

The breakfasts are immense, and absolutely delicious, although you won't need to eat for the rest of the day! The room we stayed in overlooked the estuary and it was lovely and cosy. The bathroom was heavenly, and lots of nice smelly candles and bath foam to relax with.

Its set in a really superb location, super close to all the nice bits of Maldon, but because its on the estuary its a little quieter than in town.

Cannot recommend this place enough.
