My partner and I were there to celebrate his 30th birthday and it was our 4th time visiting the Maldives. We both agreed this was the most enjoyable trip out of the 4 times we visited. Everyone said June is the worst time to go to Maldives cuz it’s monsoon season but we got 5 full days of sunshine! It was indeed a perfect stay!
Airport transit: It was incredibly smooth, we were greeted by the staff when we arrived and it only took us 25 mins by speedboat to the hotel. The ride was very comfortable.
Service: The customer service of this resort is much more casual unlike other typical 5 stars Maldivian hotels which assign you to a butler or villa host. We’ve experienced top notched service in Jumeirah Vittaveli but the staff of this hotel are the most genuine and kind people we’ve ever met. They always greet you when you pass by and they do their best to fulfill your needs. They’re always smiley you can tell they’re really happy to work there hence offers warmer services to their guests. Shameer greeted us when we arrived and he is truly an asset to the resort, he is incredibly professional and helpful. Since we had a relatively late departure flight he requested late checkout for us in advance and we really appreciated it.
Food: The food was absolutely delicious! We met Francois who’s the F&B manager and he really impressed us. He is really hard working we always see him checking on the staff and food quality at different F&B outlets whenever we dine out. There was a very romantic sunset drink set up called Velassaru romance where you get to enjoy the sunset with a bottle of champagne on the beach but it was fully booked when we asked so the hotel send us a bottle of tattinger to our dinner place to make it up. There were too many people we wanted to thank of the F&B team, Shimau from Vela, Asraf from chill bar, Ali and Immadh from Etesian. Etesian was such a romantic place and food was absolutely amazing, must try!
Room: We stayed at both Deluxe villa and water villa during our stay and I must say I prefer water Villa much more. The deluxe villa just seemed a bit too dark for me and the bathroom is outdoor so it gets incredibly hot out there. Nevertheless it was still a beautiful room and it gives you easy access to the beach. The rooms are relatively new compared to another resorts we have stayed at cuz we were told they change the furnitures of the room every two years. We stayed at water villa 408 and I have to say it was amazing! It was supposed to be the sunset side but we were told by the staff that the sunset shifted a bit so we weren’t able to see it from the room but still it faces the best side of the resort in our opinion cuz it had the most privacy and it was really quiet. Guests do not need a buggy to get around the resort so you rarely hear buggy running on jetty which could be quite annoying. Water villa is so spacious and comfortable. We have stayed at water villa with pool at other resort and we find the pool to be quite useless cuz normally you wouldn’t be able to swim in it unless it’s super big. The housekeeping team did a really good job cleaning the villa and I must say Asraf is the most responsible supervisor ever. Our cleaner Nabeel is quite new to the resort but he did an incredible job keep it up!
Thank you again to the Velassaru team for taking care of us and giving us such a beautiful memory. The island itself is so beautiful and the atmosphere is so relaxed, the sand is super soft and water is so clear. Will definitely come back again!
