“Magnificent Stay”

My wife and I recently returned from 5 nights at the Lux. We were very impressed with the staff and resort, especially Mr. Mamoun. Mr. Mamoun made a point of chatting with us every day of our stay and was very welcoming. We had overwater bungalow No. 149 (second from the end of the row) on the East side of the resort, which is a good location for divers, as it is not too far from the dive shop and water sports center. The bungalow had a very spacious deck. We really enjoyed the property and would recommend the in-villa dining (they will even deliver pizzas from the pizza bar), and the a la carte restaurants Umami and Senses. My wife also enjoyed a massage in one of the spa's overwater bungalows. The Lux also gave us a complimentary late 4:00 p.m. checkout (upon request). Overall, it was a great stay!

I have never experienced such luxury coupled with sucj beauty in any resort I have visited! Will definetely return one day for an anniversary! The staff were so polite, helpful and always had a smile on their face! The food was delicious ! Very fine dining! Mohammed from the Lagoon restaurant was extremely amazing and the breakfast staff at Island Kitchen was absolutely amazing!!!! I recommend this resort to everyone!

This is our first review on Trip Advisor, and an important one as it is our honeymoon. After visiting Lux hotel in Maldives we were very impressed by the excellent and friendly island customer service.
After visiting so many spas in the world from 4 and 5 star hotel, we have had the best manicure and pedicure experience we have ever had. Thanks to Zakde and Boni from Bali for the best spa service and thank you for making feel so well cared for and for your advice on health and beauty.

We had very personalised and friendly service from Ismail who cleaned our water villa 2 or 3 times per day, adding his own personal touches to make us feel special, such as making flower hearts in the bath and even a monkey sculpture out of towels as a surprise. The staff are very kind and take great pride in pleasing guests, always asking what more can be done.

Last but not least we had an amazing personalised Maldives cookery course experience with Lal the chef who was well prepared for his class with a set up good enough for a TV show. We learnt a lot and can't wait to make his great curry back at home.

Such a beautiful island, clean resort and friendly stuff. The villa was very clean and the bathroom as well. I liked the open roof shower it was awesome. There was variety of restaurants and the food is excellent. Thanks the the Manager Mohammed Mamoun for his warm welcome and kind hospitality

We stayed for 9 nights at the end of May. From arrival at Male airport we were looked after by resort staff. The seaplane transfer of less than 30 minutes was good and efficient following an overnight flight from London. We were greeted on arrival at the resort by Mamoun, the resort manager, and his team waving to welcome the guests. A nice touch. We were drinking a cocktail on the beach within two hours of landing in Male.
The staff on the resort are really friendly and efficient. We went all inclusive. The food and beverage selection are excellent, with many choices of places to eat and drink. The resort is always kept clean and tidy. The Island is lovely to walk around, a casual stroll along the beach took around an hour, longer if the secret bar is discovered.
There was not much nightly entertainment. We enjoyed the singer at the East bar most nights, and being entertained by Rup, Marine and Romesh.
We often enjoyed afternoon cocktails at The Island bar, where Hussey mixed great sunset drinks.
We ate mostly at the Island Kitchen, which always had great food. We were looked after attentively by Sameer and Ali most nights. On our final night they created a lovely table decoration for us. We also ate at the Italian, where the food was excellent.The pizza's were also excellent on the beach. The burgers at Senses bar were great.
Our room was kept spotless, being cleaned twice a day by Yasir, who created some wonderful towel art. We stayed in a beach pavilion on the sunset side. This side of the island has a strong breeze which we enjoyed. The beach is also wider on the sunset side.
We can only think of two negatives; Firstly, being woke up at 6.30 each morning by the first seaplane taking off and secondly, the all inclusive expires at 11am on departure day - surely this can continue until leaving the island.
Finally, a big thank you to Mamoun. He can always be seen around the resort talking to guests. He runs a great team of people who cannot do enough to make sure that everyone has a great holiday.

Was met by a staff member at Male's International airport and then caught a domestic flight and speed boat to the island. All very easy and everything was done for you so no stress trying to make the connections.

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights in an overwater villa. Extremely happy with the room, airconditioned, able to walk down the stairs off the back deck and go snorkelling in the nearby coral reefs with lots of fish. Our cleaner visited the room twice a day and was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Lux has a lot of choice with restaurants. We were on the all-inclusive package and it was very clear what was and wasn't included. Only one restaurant (Umami) is not under the package. Other things covered included cocktails, sauna/steam room, yoga, ice cream.

We used the spa twice for massages and was very happy with the service and facilities (steam room/sauna/spa pool). If your massage is in the overwater spa villas they have a glass bottom so you can see the fish swimming during the treatment.

This was the perfect week and would definitely recommend this resort to friends.

On our trip to LUX* Maldives in April my husband became extremely ill, had to be airlifted to Male and untimely flown back to the UK. Absolutely everything was done by Shaun, the general manager, and his superb colleagues and staff. I cannot praise these caring people enough. At no point in the entire difficult time did they leave me. They escorted us to the hospital in Male and dealt with the staff there as well as looking after our needs. They were thoughtful, competent, professional and extremely kind and caring, making everything as easy as possible for me. This included their colleagues in their Male office and their Airport office.

Sadly, my husband has subsequently died, but I am planning to return to the same resort later this year, with my grown up son, who wants to meet the staff and to thank them for what they did for his parents. I am also looking forward to taking that difficult step following bereavement, of going abroad and getting back to normal. The only place I really want to visit is LUX* Maldives because I too want to return to say thank you and to hug them all once again.

Room Tip: The water villas would be hard to beat
