We booked this holiday to celebrate our joint 50th birthdays with our 2 children (18 & 25). I was a bit worried that it wouldn't live up to the hype and we would get a bit stir crazy being stuck on one island over Christmas & the New Year. How wrong could I have been it is everything the reviews say it is and a bit more. I won't go on about how good the service, rooms, food etc etc were because it has all been said before and it is TRUE!
Don't over pack as the dress code is casual smart and we found that once we arrived apart from wearing our flip flops if the sand was too hot, shoes were not needed as even the restaurant floor is covered with sand.
The only moan I would have was the transfer from the airport to the resort could have been a bit better. We didn't pay for private transfer so just had the charter seaplane flight over and had to wait 2 hours as it had been delayed - advice ask your travel agent to check on the times of these flights in relation to your incoming flight to Male.

Room Tip: We had a beach family villa 107 & 108 and they were perfect.

Lily Beach is the most wonderful place on earth!
From the moment you arrive you know you have found somewhere very special. It is hard to put into words how idylic Lily Beach is. The views, the snorkelling, the food, the service are the best you will ever experience. I do not want to return to the Maldives, simply because I do not believe that anything could ever live up to this experience! And to top it off we got engaged here! Simply fantastic!

Room Tip: The deluxe water villas are incredible!

Very often the marketing pictures you see when you choose your vacation destination do not correspond with reality - but Lily Beach Resort turned out to be the exception!

Everything from the suite to the service to the natural wonders and the serenity of the island is as promised. There is a very laid-back atmosphere on the island, often I wouldn't even bother to wear shoes as even the floor in the main restaurant is covered with the finest white sand.

The snorkeling sites are amazing, and conveniently near just down the staris of the private terrasse. We saw sooo many colorful fish, glowing reefs, baby sharks and a HUGE stingray just outside our villa.

My husband and I could not have wished for a better destination for our honeymoon and once we have children we will be sure to return, though choosing a Beach Villa which seemed perfect for the families we saw instead of the Deluxe Water Villa we stayed in this time. But I have to admit it was nice seeing the family-appropriate-villas placed on the opposite end of the island of the Water Villas which most honeymooners inhabited, in the sense that it was pleasant having some private space being there as a couple.

The platinum plan was a huge relief since we did not have to worry about bringing wallets with us or stressing over what the total expense of the vacation would be. However, despite tips not being mandatory or expected, it is difficult to refrain from tipping. Most guests did not tip, but in some cases we saw it fitting to do so because of the top service and attention paid by waiters and bartenders. Point being that compared to other 5-star Maldivian destinations, I am glad we chose an all-inclusive option.

We had a perfect honeymoon and will reccomend this destination in a heartbeat for those who want exclusivity, stunning nature and warm service.

We stayed at the resort first week in December 2011 and we experienced the perfect holiday. Initially we stayed in one of the very comfortable beach bungalows, but after a couple of walks around the island, we really wanted the experience of staying in one of the water villas. This being the peak season with very little availability, we were surpised and delighted to be offered the use of one of the four fabulous and luxurious sunset water suites (404). This provided an uninterrupted and panoramic view of the sunset from our own private sundeck and infinity pool. From here we saw dolphins swimming metres away and were able to view the plentiful marine life on the house reef with our morning coffee. Platinum all inclusive, really does mean this!. The choice of drinks and cuisine on offer in the restaurant and bars is of very high quality and does cater for every taste. We were particularly impressed with the Indian, French and seafood themed evenings where we felt the restaurant staff truly excelled themselves. Cocktail connoisseurs will not be disappointed by the excellent choice and service at the main hotel bar. A special thanks to Chris the resort manager and Teo-dora the sales and marketing manager for making our stay a truly memorable and wonderful holiday. Needless to say, we are planning our next trip back to Lily Beach.

Room Tip: Request sunset side of the island

our 2 weeks on Huvahendhoo were great. We found what we wanted:
- clean, comfortable and spacious room
- delicious food, great wine and drinks (now have to slim down :-)
- lovely and polite stuff
- beautifull sea with wonderfull coral reef and fishes
- superb spa

We hope we will visit Lily Beach again.

we stayed in an over water villa (323) which was as beautiful as in the photos on their website. The glass bottom entrance was spectacular. Great bed, great pool, amazing view. Things to consider - the over water villas closest to the island have a slight privacy issue - some of the balconies can be seen from "aqua" pool or passing boats. ours (323) was perfectly positioned a little bit further along away from the island which meant apart from the occasional snorkeler, we could do as we pleased without any concerns. Although our villa was a longish walk to the restaurants, if we felt lazy we could call reception and they would send a buggy to pick us up. In general the service was fantastic. Our room was serviced very well, at times that suited us, not the housekeeping department. Minibar was kept filled with drinks and savory snacks, though I could have used some chocolate (which seems in short supply on the island....). We really enjoyed the food. For a buffet I thought the standard was pretty good, with a great variety. The bars at either end of the island serve great lunches and snacks too which is a good way to relieve the " buffet" monotony if you are staying a while. Overall, a lovely resort and a fabulous honeymoon.

Room Tip: Water villas furtherest away from the island - a longer walk, but more privacy.
