I didn't stay in the resort but was arranged a daytrip here, the atmosphere is very peaceful, the staff were really helpful! we had a good buffet lunch and spend most of the time on the beach, the beach was nice on the main island, and you could walk to another sunrise island where you found an amazing sand bank.

very nice place to visit, will plan a stay here.

Rihiveli was our first experience with Maldives and honestly, it couldn't have been any better! The main island with the nice stuff, the two beautiful untouched islands where you can go anytime and don't feel like leaving them at all (especially the Sunrise island), the sea, the gorgeous lagoon.. Pure beauty! Don't await a luxury accommodation (it was plain but nice and clean indeed) and you cannot make a better choice; plus all the watersports (besides kitesurfing) are for free! :)

We returned here this year after a wonderful time last year, and once again every aspect of our visit lived up to, and even surpassed our expectations. This time we took our 3 year old son and the staff were so wonderful with him, going out of their way with him. Otherwise he loved seeing all the marine wildlife, kayaking, and all the beach fun.

And for us the food, relaxation, water sports and drinks at the sunset bar made this another wonderful experience in paradise. If we come back to the Maldives (if my wife gets her way) there will be no question which resort we return to!

Room Tip: Who needs a swimming pool when you go to the Maldives? - we certainly don't, as the sea is a per...

Spend three nights over there, a warm welcome by Front Office staff at Jetty. You can see the nature buggy (wheel barrow) send your luggage to your room, which is so creative and nature! All the staffs are so friendly & pleasure. Greet you whenever they see you. The room is simple but harmony & charm.

The Island is so peaceful and relax, you will see and chase after the island mascot, Juliette, for sure! Enjoy yourself with the water sport, amazing & friendly staff is ready to have fun with you.

It’s amazing resort, surely will go back again in future!

If you are looking for an island get away with swim up bar, tanning salon, and lots of amenities, Rhiveli is not for you!! But if you want a place to detach from the world, and get truly back to nature with magificent service and a very laid back resort, go to Rhiveli!! We had a wonderful family holiday with our three boys, ages 11, 12, and 15. The watersports were all included, sea kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, catamaran sailing, and fishing too. The staff was so very accommodating, and took us out for special fishing trips, at a small fee, and they even cooked our fish for us. The food was very nice, frest, and not overdone. We ate well, and were extremely well taken care of. The accomodations were comfortable, and we loved our deluxe villa. Try this awesome getaway. We loved it. But forget about wifi connections and luxurious spas. This was back to basics, and very well done.

Dear MichelleinQ8, Rihiveli is a preserved island with a natural environment. This is a good place for a break with all your family. The “no news, no shoes” concept is not so easy for connected teenagers because of no wi-fi in the room. However, they can enjoy many nautical activities such as catamaran, water skiing, windsurfing and so on. We are happy that you had unforgettable moments all together at Rihiveli. Your sincerely

I bought this trip as a Birthday surprise for my mum and dad. It was our first time going to Maldives and I must admit we could not have chosen better hotel than Rihiveli. When we came to the resort, they were waiting for us at the platform to welcome us there. We removed our shoes then and did not wear them at all for the rest of our stay, we just put them on the last day when we were leaving to the airport. The island is absolutely amazing, breathtaking. The staff very friendly, helpful. There is lots of men cleaning the island, cutting coconuts from trees, cleaning rooms.....and everytime you pass by them, they smile and greet you. The staff in the restaurant is very attentive. When they see your glass is half empty, they come straight away and replenish it. I do not eat meat and our waiter Rauf remembered it from the first day and was very proactive when meat was served, he just arranged for me to have something else without asking me. The food in the hotel is excellent as well, we were eating so much and put some kilos on from the delicious dishes. There is soooo much to do, loots of watersports free of charge, trip to the islands opposite the main island, sharks in the staff area, dolphins, daily snorkelling trips....and soo many more. First days in the hotel we were very tired as we wanted to do everything, all the activities.....you will not be bored in the island for sure. The rooms were cleaned twice a day, when we went for breakfast or dinner and came back, beds were done again, floor free of sand, room nicely sprayed....I have never seen that in any 5 star hotel I visited before. The resort has a very family feeling, no wonder people keep coming back all the time. I expected a lot based on the reviews and the website pictures, but I can assure you, it was soo much more and much more beautiful than in the website. The island is a fairytale. We absolutely loved this place and we are coming back next year....the only difference will be that we will bring more family members and maybe some friends too.

Room Tip: We loved the room opposite the Sunrise island, however it was a bit warm at night. If you love coole...

After having worked as a diving instructor at Rihiveli’s Eurodivers diving centre 15 years ago it was always my dream to go back to this paradise island. And I finally did in October 2013 with my husband. Rihiveli is paradise pure!
If you are looking for a natural island getaway with no shoes, no news, no phones and you just need nature, nice people, good food, some funny and crazy birds (inhabitants of these beautiful islands )and some fantastic dive-sites around you? Then go to RIHIVELI!
It is a not a luxurious island in the sense of having super deluxe bungalows with airco and a jacuzzi, but it is luxurious because it’s kept natural. It doesn’t have a pool (thank god) as a pool is not needed with such a beautiful lagoon around the island where you can see baby rays and baby sharks swim (no worries, they are not dangerous). Two islands where you can walk to through the lagoon and have your fresh grilled fish for lunch. We were especially fond of the Maldivian staff on the island, who were extremely helpful, gentle, smiling without them being interruptive. They leave you in peace and still you can have a nice chat with them. Get to know them during one of the afternoon tea sessions in the “Maldivian village”. I miss the happy hour cocktails while watching the sun go down and most of all I miss the Maldivian curry! 3 times a week Rihiveli offers buffet-dinner on the beach with every evening a different topic (Maldivian, Asian, Italian etc.). The other dinners where held in their open-air restaurant with a fix 3-4 course menu – but there was always some nice Maldivian curry that you could take as well. Do not bother to book half-board but book full-board so you can enjoy the buffet lunches as well as the fresh fish bbq on the “Island of the Rising Sun” – one of the 2 island in front of Rihiveli (as described above).
The time on the island is 1,5 hrs ahead of Male (capital) time – this is great so you can enjoy the sun a bit longer. The sun does not go down at 18h00 but at 19h30.
The bungalows are decorated with a lot of love. Each bungalow has a ceiling fan and has its own terrace facing the beach / sea. Each bungalow has a hammock and 2 beach beds. You can either chose the sunrise side (bungalow names that start with A-B) or the sundown side (bungalow names that start with C-D). Bungalows have no number but names, starting with A, B, C or D.
There is a White Party every Friday evening so make sure to bring some white clothes.
Diving with Ben and his team at the Eurodivers diving center is just superb!. They watch your safety very closely and are the perfect guides underwater. We even saw a harlequin shrimp which is very rare in the Maldives. I recommend to do a Fluo Night Dive – more details to this very special night dive can be found on the Eurodivers Rihiveli site on Facebook.

The only thing that we think could be approved is to change the dinner time to 8pm instead of 8.30pm as we found this a bit late. It would also be good if the Maldivian staff @ the Surf Center would have as much of attention for my husband (who was trying his first windsurfing skills) as for the lovely ladies who where trying to windsurf...:)

Hopefully we will go back again next year!

Room Tip: if you want a sunrise bungalow choose bungalows A-B, if you want a sundown bungalow choose bungalows...

Dear Adriana, thank you for sharing your experience after fifteen years. Rihiveli is still the same, no changes, “no news, no shoes”. A natural paradise with friendly staff, good food and barbecues, and unforgettable dives. We take note for the dinner time and for the water sport center. Thanks again for sharing great time with us.
