Out on a walk when we got caught in a patch of bad weather so detoured. How fortunate! Arrived for Sunday lunch. Menu limited but that is better than something long where it is all bought in. 3 roasts were well cooked and generous with veg and pots as was the veggie alternative. Similarly with the puds. We began to think that we should have had the starter as well. And all for much less than one main at a more prestigious place near by. Staff friendly and considerate and Landlady made an effort to speak with us. This pub knows what it is and does it very well. It is not often that we are grateful for heavy rain!
