Great facilities, location and furnishings. The ideal base or a peaceful break. Friendly neighbours, good local pub and easy access to points of interest.

“Just right for our needs”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We returned to the cottage knowing it had the right facilities for us (two adults and one baby). It is well appointed and quiet and in easy reach of the seaside, Exmoor countryside and interesting places to visit.

“A great place for exploring Exmoor and coast”
Reviewed 2 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Jonathon & Caroline kept us informed all the the way through the process so that we knew how to find it and how to get in, easily.
The cottage is impressive.

Downstairs, there is a large well equipped kitchen, a living room with ample seating, a modern tv/dvd/sony games unit, a large dining table for four and a log burning fire that we didn't need to use. A box of toys and games helped keep the kids amused.

Upstairs, the two bedrooms were comfortable and plenty big enough, the double having a massive wardrobe. The twin bedded room could have benefited with some hanging space but was spacious and well decorated.
The bathroom had underfloor heating, heated towel rail, a bath, wash basin, toilet and walk-in electric shower. All worked well but the shower was a little temperamental on occasion.

The village is well located to explore Exmoor. The pub serves good beer and bar meals several nights a week and weekends. There is a children's play area close by.

You can visit the tallest tree in England, just a couple of miles away on Dunster Crown Estate, with some lovely walks and picnic places.

We would have awarded 5 stars but for the poor wifi reception. It kept dropping out and couldn't be relied upon.
Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“Everything you need”
Reviewed 25 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Excellent comfortable accommodation all of a very high spec. Nice to have a kitchen with top notch pans/knives etc. Good location, quiet and parking not an issue plenty of room in the village and parked each night opposite the pub 50yds away. Friendly pub as well. All in all excellent value for money.

“Fantastic stay, beautiful cottage”
Reviewed 11 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

What a beautiful cottage this is. We were so pleased when we walked in and saw how quaint it was. I would definitely recommend this cottage rental.

The owners have really made sure everything is of the top quality from the cutlery, pots, pans and utensils to the bedding and towels.

It was very homely with things like big mugs and plenty of hangers. It's these little things that really made our stay.

There is a travel cot and high chair if you have very small children with you. There is also no need to take a hairdryer as there is one available for you to use.

The underfloor heating in the bathroom was wonderful and we had a couple of lovely fires in the evenings - the log burning stove was brilliant. There is a DVD player but only a couple of DVDs which were for small children (peppy pig and in the night garden) so take a couple of your own if you fancy a night in with a film.

There were plenty of games for children and books for every taste available just in case you've forgotten your holiday reading.

All the rooms are very spacious and decorated to a very high standard.

There are just 2 things that I would say were an annoyance but I don't think they can be resolved by the owners. One is the water pressure in the shower. It's pretty non existent so be prepared to have baths instead. The other is the WiFi which was sporadic and no signal with O2 on your mobile phone.

Overall we had a fantastic 4 days in this lovely cottage and will definitely be returning.

Make sure you buy supplies in Minehead or Dunster before going to the cottage as there is no shop at all in the village; only a Post Office and they only sell eggs.
