Just back from the most peaceful and relaxing break EVER .We were lucky enough to stay in Lake springs and Kaisers Kabin . The views were just stunning, especially from the hot tub. The layout of the site makes it stand out because you are not overlooked by another cabin.Exploring the lake by boat is a must if only to check out which cabin to return to next year. Lake springs was cosy enough for the two of us with plenty of surrounding grass for the dog to mouch around. Kaisers was huge with three large bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs with a roll top bath under a skylight and the lower bathroom with a wet room. I just wish we had found this gem many years ago, and we will definitely be returning.

Fantastic family holiday in Monty's Retreat. The whole place exceeded our expectations. So close to nature, but with all the luxury too. The hot tub is a must. We had our 2 dogs with us and they loved it so much. We are very sad to leave, but will definitely be back.

My first time in a log cabin, and I don't think I will ever find a better. The standard of the cabin itself is excellent and the location is fabulous. We wanted peace and relaxation and we got it (no wireless, shop, bar) but there is a lake and a boat, a hot tub, long walks and cycle rides and that lovely warm wood smell in the cabin. There is a TV, there are games and fabulous views. And an otter that swims slowly across the lake in the evening.

Very difficult to fault. Stayed in Kaiser's Kabin for our honeymoon. The log house is more cosy than modern, but still lovely to live in. Bathrooms wonderful, kitchen spacious and well equipped, lounge very relaxing, master bedroom absolutely wonderful. Hot tub was great, a little expensive but I'm not complaining.

The views are incredible. Kaiser's is south facing and we had the sun all week long. You can be entertained just by watching the wildlife - the fish swimming around, the birds diving into the water to catch said fish, ducks paying you a visit - all absolutely wonderful, and all in a secluded spot that is completely uninterrupted by other people - not my normal kind of holiday but for honeymoons/anniversaries etc it is perfect. The rowing boats add to the experience as well, allowing you to view more of the site.

For a day put you have the water and beach park not too far away which is nice (£4 per person) but our favourite day out was bourton-on-the-water, a lovely picturesque village.

I hade to mark down sleep quality as on two of the mornings we were woken up by onsite chain-sawing! This carried on until lunch time the first day, and was still going at half 10 the next. When I phoned Anthony to ask when it would be stopping, he immediately apologised and the sawing stopped within 5 minutes.

All in all a (relatively) expensive getaway that's worth every penny, you certainly won't be disappointed!

Kaiser Lodge was a perfect venue for a getaway with friends, we had seen the fantastic pictures on the internet but it was so much more when we arrived. All of the lodges have a great little chunk of privacy on the lake and at night it feels like you are the only people around for miles.
We hired the hot tub and kayaks, both were well worth their money! A soak on the terrace in the steaming hot tub ended the days perfectly and the kayaks were the perfect way to explore the lake and the abundance of local wildlife. The house was very well equipped, lovely bathrooms - roll top bath under the velux window is also a must!
Amenities are all close by and Anthony and his dogs checked in to make sure all was ok.

All in all a perfect base to explore the local area or to just stay in an enjoy the paradise on your doorstep!

I surprised my husband for our 25th wedding anniversary and booked lake springs. We certainly were not disappointed, this place is amazing weather fantastic too. The cabin views over the lake were wonderful. The cabin has everything you could possibly need for our break away from the stressful lives we lead. Hot tub a real bonus, drank lots of champers watching stars at night to celebrate. The grounds are fabulous and we enjoyed the walks around the lake and our dog loved all the freedom. We had our own rowing boat and enjoyed floating on the lake, watching the fish, ducks and swans from the end of our jetty was so peaceful. Even managed a glimpse of the otter.
This is a real credit to Anthony and family. Thank you x
