A cosy well equipped cottage set in picturesque Northumberland. Ideally situated to explore both the coast and countryside. Would thoroughly recommend if you want to get away for a really relaxing holiday
My husband, two dogs and I stayed here for 3 nights at the start of April. A spotlessly clean apartment, with all the essentials. A really comfortable bed, plenty of space for 2 and totally dog friendly. A large enclosed garden for them to run about in and lovely views all round. It is isolated, but we wanted to be in the middle of nowhere for some peace and quiet. And only a 5-10 minute drive to many good pubs and shops in nearby towns and villages. Perfect for exploring the many places to visit nearby. My husband also found it great for cycling the hills! We had a very warm welcome and were looked after very well...even being lent dog leads after we found we'd forgotten ours. I thoroughly recommend it as a quiet and comfortable getaway.
The Bothy is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning Northumbrian countryside . Keith and Christine are so friendly and welcoming and they have equipped this lovely little cottage with everything one could possibly need ... from kitchen equipment to torches and binoculars ! I haven't slept so well for years ! We booked three nights , added a fourth and were still hoping the next guests would cancel as there is so much to do in the area ! They didn't cancel so we had to book another week ! Our dog Leo loved it too and made friends with their lovely husky Sirius . We had wonderful weather and enjoyed every minute . Don't like to gush but this place is everything everyone says and more ! We visited Alnwick , Bamburgh and Holy Island but our favourite places were Embleton Bay , Barter Books in Alnwick and Corbridge where we had lovely meals .... especially the Corbridge Larder ... try the Full English ! Also very close to Hadrians Wall ! Many thanks to our lovely hosts for making us feel so welcome !
Me, my hubby and our dog Reggie have recently come home from a weeks stay at the magical Bothy. We were lucky enough to spend Christmas there away from the hustle of the city to get some peace and quiet. The cottage is warm and cosy and Keith and Christine have thought of everything. It was so well equipped, there was not a single thing that they didn't have. At no time did I think "Oh we could have done with one of those". There was a bottle of wine waiting for us which was a lovely thought. They are a genuinely lovely couple who live next door. They are helpful and friendly and so welcoming. They made us feel like it was our cottage. The paddock was brilliant for Reggie who spent lots of time running around. A big bonus for us was that he did not have to wear his lead outside the cottage, he could run free. The bed was so comfy and big we slept really well. Watching the birds feeding every morning was very entertaining. There is so much to see and do in the local area. We were really lucky with the weather and spent many days at the local beaches or forests which were around 30 mins away. Seaton Sluice was our favourite beach with a lovely dog friendly pub and the most breathtaking waves that we could have watched ll day. We didn't want to leave. We even found time in the evenings to complete a 1000 piece jigsaw which we didn't have the heart to break up so left it for Keith and Christine to do (sorry about that lol)
Thank you so much for making our week special.
We had a great time at the bothy, the accommodation felt very homely and was very cosy. The Christmas tree was a fab addition at this time of year. A lovely place, with plenty of room. And had all the utilities you'd need,
The owners are next door but you'd never know with the layout and own garden area. Lots of information in the bothy too which was greatly appreciated.
A beautiful view from the kitchen and seating outside would be perfect in the summer months....or with a travel blanket in the winter!
Great for the dog too with the paddock for him to stretch his legs in the morning.
Lots to see and do near by. You have wonderful Corbridge, Wallington, fabulous walks like hadrians wall, pop to Simonsburn for cake and coffee and loads of supermarkets at Hexham.
