“Fantastic, relaxing and a total escape from the 'real' world. It was romantic and what a fabulous sleep.”

My husband and I really needed a break after a horribly stressful year. Azabu was just what the doctor ordered. Quiet and peaceful. At night it is so wonderfully dark that sleep comes easily. The moonlight oozing through the unshielded top windows set a seductive and romantic ambience that is difficult to top. I had an Azabu treatment which was delightful. Highly recommend this accommodation for a relaxing retreat.

We enjoyed our time at Azabu and found it to be very quiet, peaceful and in lovely forest surrounds. The room was small but clean and the pool lovely. We would not recommend the guesthouse for anyone with mobility issues as you have to take a very big step into and out of the spa/shower area.

Also - a hire car is recommended which we did have. The guesthouse is far enough out of Byron Bay that too many taxi rides would really add up.

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. We are glad you enjoyed our property. We do recommend that people hire a car while they are here to get the most out of their Byron experience but Byron taxis are really quick and it is only a short 5 minute drive into town as an alternate option. Our distance from town is perfect as it is quiet and tranquil here but still close enough to enjoy the beach and amazing restaurants. That is what makes us one of the most unique places to stay in the Byron area!

Thanks again!

The room was very comfortable. The spa was a bit daunting at first but once you were in it was good. Outdoor spa and pool was also nice, needs a bit of a service but so warm and such a romantic setting. The property itself was beautiful. Would love to stay again and use the day spa next time. Breakfast was also very tasty.

Room Tip: Small hotel so each room is similar and all seem to have a view of the outside.

We really enjoyed our stay here especially as we were passing through on a long journey. We were well rested and it was romantic to spend some luxury time together. We would definitely return and enjoy another visit.

Very romantic, exceeded my expectations. Massage for wife and I on the first morning of our stay was awesome! Rooms are cute but on small side so pack light. Ear plugs might be needed as the walls are thin. Cleaning wasn't consistent over the stay - but staff super friendly and helpful. A memorable stay.

We stayed for only one night, but will definitely return for longer next time. After a short drive from town, down a winding(and sometimes dirt) road through magnificent, peaceful country Byron Bay, we arrived at Azabu just after the 5pm office close. Waiting at reception was our key and instructions on how to get to the room. The room had a distinct Japanese feel, as per the upmarket district in Tokyo from where the resort takes it's name. The use of wood furniture, the bath screens and the Japanese robes made the stay a unique experience. We had a room with a sunken spa bath that provided much needed relief for tired muscles after a day of activity. The views over the wooden deck (from the bath as well as the bed) were delightful. Byron Forrest nature at its best with birds calling, including the hooting calls of the peacocks, made this a very relaxing stay. Azabu is perfect for a quiet getaway.

My husband & I stayed at Azabu for 2 nights. We would have loved to have stayed longer, maybe next time. The location is surreal, very private & quiet. Our room was not large but beautifully presented with every thing we needed. It was amazing to lay in bed looking out through the trees dripping with raindrops glistening in the early morning sunshine. We enjoyed the spa (it was a little cool for the pool) & loved our delicious breakfast. Our room had a sunken shower/spa bath which was great. The managers were lovely, everything was very clean. We would definitely stay again, next time enjoying some of the on-site spa treatments. Overall a special, magic place.
