My wife and I stayed here after reading so many favorable Trip Advisor reviews. Instead of just making it a one night layover stop, we took the advice of others and opted for 2 nights so we could explore the beautiful grounds surrounding the hacienda and I must say it was one of the highlights of our entire trip!
Daniel and his wife and son did an excellent job making us feel welcome. It sounds cliché, but it really did seem as if you were staying with friends instead of a hotel. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and uniquely but tastefully decorated. The common areas with sofas and fireplaces are cozy and allow for interaction with the other guests if you so desire. The included breakfast consisted of fresh fruits, toast, eggs, and ham or bacon. This is all served with fresh juice and coffee. It is also notable the hacienda is only a 15 minute taxi ride from the new airport. They will arrange a seamless transfer for $15 one way. It is worth noting many of the major hotels are as much as 45 minutes away from the new airport.
We enjoyed our Ecuador stay so much we have already rented a house in Cotacachi next summer for 6 weeks and will undoubtedly be staying here for a few nights when we arrive in Quito.More
