Stayed here for one night with my boyfriend and we loved the island and the B&B. Phylomena was a great host, very welcoming as well as a great cook, we had a gorgeous dinner and breakfast. The room was lovely and comfortable and we also thought it was great value. The location is convenient for the harbour and the views are amazing.

Some friends and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at Tranaun House on Inishturk, Co Mayo. Phylomena, our hostess, was charming and Bernard her husband was a mine of information about fishing, farming and island lore.
Accommodation and breakfast was topnotch and internet assess was also available. The location is perfect, just a few minutes’ walk from the harbour and the local pub/restaurant. There are wonderful views of the harbour and across to Galway and Mayo coastline from the bedrooms and dining room.

I can only confirm the review of Micilla, she said it all: Philomena is so welcoming, so helpful, her home mirrors her and the place is beautiful. Our stay of just one night in this beautiful island was magical !

Last August I had a romantic week end with my boyfriend, and we booked 2 nights at this B&B in Inisturk Island.
We were never so impressed like here! The most impressive part was the hospitality of Philomena, the woman who runs the B&B, a big-hearted woman who just wants all the time to make her guests feel comfortable and looked after.
But the house was very beautiful as well! It is not too big, it only has a couple of rooms but this is only an advantage for the guests. Our room was spacious and cosy at the same time, incredibly nicely decorated, with a lovely small bathroom and a scenic ocean view from the window. Philomena also showed us the other rooms (they were free in that day), they all have a high standard in terms of details and spaces. Of course, all perfectly clean too.
The House is very close to the harbour, but she still helps you with the luggage with her own car.
Our offer also included dinners. Meals are served in a very beautiful dining room, as well with amazing view. We have been served a lot of fresh seafood dishes, sometimes just caught by the husband the same day. Dinners are very generous, from starter to desert and tea/coffee, and everything is simply delicious. Also breakfast is tasty, we were always asked what we would prefer and offered a lot of different things.
Because we soaked our shoes by walking on the cliffs, we were offered a drying service. This, and all the other extra cares we received, have been done out of kindness and no extra charge has been requested.
I recommed this B&B to anyone who would like to have a peaceful break surrounded by a magic and absolutely friendly atmosphere!

Room Tip: All rooms are very good, but I the one we stayed in might be the best one. Just ask for ocean view.
