“An affordable and very comfortable cottage”

This is a lovely homely cottage, practical without feeling functional. There is everything you actually need - excellent beds, piping hot water, clean, pleasant rooms - but you are not having to pay for things you don't really need such as agas and four poster beds! A rare find indeed. The cottage is furnished harmoniously and you feel at home straight away. The village is quiet and pretty and you can walk out onto the hills straight from the cottage. Good sized Co-op in Settle only a mile away. We loved the airy spacious attic bedroom with its views of the village and the hills.

Another excellent visit to Johns Cottage in Langcliffe. A lovely comfy cottage to come back to after a day in the Dales either cycling, walking or site seeing. All the comforts of home, with wonderful scenery all around. I'm sure we'll be back for another visit next year.

“Serene and beautiful place in English countryside”

This was my favorite place that we visited on our trip to Ireland and England. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The light on the dales was glorious. The apartment was quaint yet very comfortable. We had a great meal at the Lion the night that we arrived. The next day we hiked along the river, stopping for a riverside beer at Stainsworth. A coop grocery store was within scenic walking distance and the kitchen was equipped for cooking in. Our hostess, Mary, was extremely helpful and provided a great deal of information prior to our arrival. I wish that we had planned to stay longer and would love to return.

“Idyllic location. The perfect family get away.”

We wanted to find a cottage that would provide us with a comfortable base for which to spend a relaxing family holiday. Langcliffe is a quiet and beautiful village. Our two children aged 7 and 4 really enjoyed riding their bikes around the village, playing games on the green, and having fun in the small playground. When we wanted to visit the shops it was just a short, pleasant walk or bike ride to Settle town.
There were lots of places to visit during the week. We enjoyed picturesque country walks, Riverside picnics and some excellent pub lunches.
The cottage itself was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The children loved sleeping in their attic bedroom.
It was lovely to spend quality family time in such a beautiful location. We will definitely be returning next year.
