We visited Chateau Woods on Nov 1 and stayed for two nights. We stayed in the luxury room with a private balcony. I must say that it was a wonderful place to unwind in middle of the tea estates.

Firstly to get there from Bangalore:

From Bangalore to Mysore drive ahead to Nanjangud drive ahead to Gundulpet and take right to Sultan bathery. Drive straight to Kalpetta and then ask for Meppadi. Ask for Chooralmala, there will be road which goes to Suchipara Waterfalls, do not take that road and drive straight down. Ask for Attamala and take the left immediately after the town, you will see a temple in the beginning of the road and cross the metal bridge and just follow the road to reach the property.
It roughly takes around 3.5 to 4 hrs from Mysore.

About the Property:
Wonderful: As It is rare for a place in the midst of tea estates the view from the balcony is simple superb and the rooms are well planned and of course big enough to accommodate a family of 4 and even 5.

About the Food:
Delicious! You can order food of your choice and relish the taste. You might not get the varieties at par to the hotels but what ever you get will be of good quality and taste.

About the Staff:

Less staff and very friendly. I hope the property will be adequately staffed in the future.

About facilities:

Can be improved. Less scope for outdoor games but you might not need it unless you have kids who might want to play around. I suggest a play area for kids with swing and skate will be handy. You can just take a long walk and also the cycles to ride around, but on a holiday you might have different plans.

Places around:

We just visited the Soochipara Waterfalls. The resort manager arranged a jeep and we accessed the waterfalls through a private property. It was a wonderful place with no crowd, probably the access was only for the Chateau woods guests. We did not want to travel and waste time and just rolled back in the hotel.

Verdict:
If you want a luxury stay in middle of an estate, yes, you can go to Chateau woods. Considering the more or less the tropical climate, the management can plan for a swimming pool and may be a fitness centre also. As said above with huge place around a play area for kids will be too good have.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good and depends of the crowd.

We had a great time here. The hospitality is amazing, the place is lovely and the food was brilliant. We were pampered for 3 days in this heavenly place. The staff was very, very friendly and professional. Sajith, the manager, was extremely helpful and ensured that we had a great stay. The house itself is very comfortable and tastefully decorated.

Suggestions - visit the private waterfall and ensure all your meals are at the home-stay.

Room Tip: The suites are very comfortable and house 4 people but have only one bathroom. If you aren't comfortable with it, book single rooms.

Set in a very beautiful location with wonderful sights around. The experience at Chateau woods was exceptional. The moment you reach there every little thing is taken care of by the smart and polite team at the Bunglow. The service has a very homely touch without bringing in too much formality in between. I visited this place with my mother, wife and kids and it turned out to be a memorable experience. And last but not least food was very tasty and quantity was impressive. Hope to visit this place if i get a chance again!

Spent 3 nights and 4 days at Chateau Woods in October with my husband. We stayed at the Cliff Villa which is located atop a mound overlooking the valley. Tastefully decorated with glass on three sides providing the best view of the valley and the tea estates. The room was a bit smaller than I expected but considering that the Cliff Villa is opted mostly by couples (without children) the size of the room did not bother us much. What we loved was the view from the balcony!!! We decided that we would spend all our time in the room rather than venture outside. The view from the balcony just sealed the deal. Though the villa is a good 20ft climb from the main resort, it is totally worth the climb, sweat and sometimes tears (especially after meals :-)

The staff is small but extremely helpful and hands-on. Being a very picky vegetarians (with a disdain for garlic), the staff went out of their way to ensure that our meals were mostly garlic free. I do wish that the spread was more balanced with other cuisines. We were not a big fan of Kerala cuisine with dishes made out of coconut or with coconut but every other guest at the resort loved the food. So I guess it's just us!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Chateau Woods and I highly recommend the resort. Cant wait to go back to the Cliff Villa at Chateau Woods.

We spent 3 nights here in October. The drive to this place from Kalpetta is absolutely breath taking. The roads are decent, winding through a landscape of tea estates. The resort itself is nestled on top of a hill and the view from all sides is something that will stay with you forever. The staff is small and the best I've seen. Kids will love the animal farm at the gate and have enough games at the resort. I personally experienced great views of the valley by riding one of their bikes at the resort. The resort has a private water falls which one must experience. The chef is extraordinary in making anything you wish for. Loved all the Kerala delicacies that were prepared to our taste and liking. Since there are only 5 accommodations, every guest befriends the other. All in all Chateau Woods is on the top of my recommendations in wayanad.
