We booked this to stay in as a family holiday with our three children (15,13,11y) and two adult friends as an ideal base from which to go skiing up at Glenshee.
It is really well designed, spacious, homely enough to feel cosy, but not like living in someone else’s home. I could happily have stayed for weeks! It was really well equipped and was beautifully clean. There is so much space that it soaked us all up quite happily. The views from the many windows are restoring for the soul. We particularly loved the red squirrels (and the gorgeous pheasant). There is a large drying utility room - brilliant for ski gear.
Inevitably, we forgot a few items which Kirsty kindly offered to post and both she and her brother were really attentive during the stay. The sauna has to be paid for with pound coins so remember these.
The only other thing to mention is that you’ll need to set aside quite a bit of time to clean before you leave (even if like us you try to leave things in good order) as there is quite a long list to check off.
We would happily go back and highly recommend it. It was perfect for our skiing, but is in such a great position it would be ideal for any outdoor adventure - it’s very hyggelike.
We had an amazing time, the house is wonderful with everything you need and in a beautiful setting. We had snow which was an extra bonus and made snowmen in the lovely garden. We would definitely visit again.
