Four of us were visiting friends earlier in October in Auchterarder and we were all delighted to find Bright Water Lodge which sits in Lochmanor Estate on the edge of the village of Dunning. A cracking little find. Two full bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other a twin. The Lodge is immaculate as are the grounds. We had enough room to park two cars but there’s also additional parking just by the Lodge too. It is beautifully presented and very tastefully furnished to the highest standard. The soft furnishings and bedding are of the highest quality and this home just oozes luxury and comfort. I could have settled in quite happily for a week or two with a few good books. There’s a small side room off the lounge with a sofa bed in it that’s a great spot to sit quietly away from the main lounge. Turns out, this is a new Lodge so lovely and fresh. The owner has really thought of everything. Excellent communication from Lyndsay. The kitchen was very well equipped with all you would need. There’s also lots of little touches too that just make the home: the duck cushion was a personal favorite along with the gorgeous antler lamp. I enjoyed the tip to nature inside the home reflecting that on your doorstep. Push back the folding doors and enjoy the terrace and wildlife. It was a bit cold when we were there but nonetheless we sat outside with a wine or two watching the wildlife and world go by. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the Lodge but, staying here, you are not cut-off in anyway. I would recommend The Kirkstyle Inn in the village for great food and drinks. Auchterarder is only 10 minutes away (great shopping!). Gleneagles, 15 minutes and Crieff Hydro, 30 minutes away. Needless to say, the spa at Gleneagles tempted us and the men enjoyed the golf. Curling up in the Lodge at the end of the day was just bliss. I cannot wait to return.
