Dive Link Coron Adventure Island Resort
Ranked #20 of 20 Hotels in Coron
Reviewed 18 May 2012

From Coron airport, there are two transfers to get to the resort. First is a 15 minute van ride to the port then a 10 minutes boat ride to drop you at the resort’s dock. Transfers to and from the resort is part of the package.

You get the usual welcome lei from the warm and courteous personnel of the resort. Note that the same personnel will serve food, accompany you to your island hopping and assist you during your stay.

The resort has no beach front. A small stretch of sand on water has jelly fish so you cannot swim and it is where you take off for your usual kayak.

My friends and I (pax of 3) stayed at the Buco room (family room) where we shared one bed. The villa is located near the restaurant, kayak and dock. The room was simple, mattress was ok. A refrigerator is provided in the room but no TV and telephone.

Meals are served at the common area near the small swimming pool. The view from the restaurant’s deck is very relaxing as you see trees, water and the colors from the resort. Meals were good. If you enjoy seafood, the resort brings out the best in their cooking. I suggest getting the package with the full board meals as there really is nowhere you can buy food unless you take the 10 minute ride to the port.

If you are a fan of danger (fish) and unable to buy at the market, try their fresh danger to take home, you may order at the resort at the same price as those sold in the market.
Going to the resort with friends is more ideal as child/ran may get bored with nothing much to do, whereas elders may find it difficult to go up and down the stairs.

We enjoyed our stay so if it is your first time in Croon, you might enjoy the place.

Room Tip: To be comfortable choose a Family room for twin sharing.

We stayed for 3d/2n honestly it was not what I expected so I was disappointed as soon as we arrived, I was expecting a nice beach front where we could walk in the sand and swim or at least a nice pool but it was very ordinary and not that clean so I didn't dare to swim.

The room was okay, I find it uncomfortable (mattress was a bit hard, blanket was too thin) but at least sleep-able, no TV in the room (has common area to watch TV that needs to be cleaned), no electricity during the day and not much to do in the resort so it was boring, bathroom has a foul smell and has no hot water.

In the positive note the staffs were accommodating, the view was great and we still enjoyed the island tour, I will possibly go back to Coron due to great sights but would try another place to stay.

We stayed at Dive Link for 2 nights and were satisfied with the services of their very curteous staff. The resort is secluded, thus, a good place for relaxation. However, the resort doesn't have a beach but has a small pool. Noone is allowed to swim in the resort's shore because of jelly fish and sea snakes. Bytheway, Dive Link is a misleading name for the resort since it is not a dive resort, they do not operate any diving activities nor provide diving lessons.

I stayed for one week being lured by the name.... big mistake..... this is NOT a dive resort. It has no diving operations whatsoever. Also, don't be fooled by the pictures, this resort does NOT have a beach (they have some murky foreshore with warning signs not to enter the water due to dangerous animals). Food was pretty average. I stayed in a standard room which was small, smelly and the aircon was very noisy and blowing directly onto the bed without being able to adjust the direction. Room was never cleaned, no new linen in a week. They have a pool which is in appaling condition, slippery and cracked tiles everywhere. The resort is on a separate island which means you can either take a boat transfer to Coron for shopping or some nightlife or you have to stay in the resort. Nothing happens there, it is extremely boring. Electricity only available at night, no cold drinks, no aircon, during the day. Reception staff was unfriendly. Overall not a good experience.

We stayed at Dive Link Resort for four nights at the beginning of March 2012, and we were relatively happy with the accommodation. Dive Link has a free airport pickup (we flew from Manila to Coron with Cebu Pacific), and it takes approx 30 mins to get from the airport to Coron Town - Dive Link then provides a free boat service from Coron Town to their resort, which is based on Uson Island - it is approx 10 mins on the boat from Coron Town to Dive Link.

We chose to stay at Dive Link as we were not sure how noisy town would be, and we definately made a good decision (town is pretty noisy). It is situated close enough to town that it is easy to get there when needed, however it is away from all the noise and is a nice relaxing spot. Dive Link provides a free boat shuttle service to town for all guests, from early morning to 7pm at night - after 7pm you need to pay 200 php per person for the shuttle back from town.

From a distance Dive Link looks really amazing, however once you are at the resort you can see that it is starting to show signs of age. They have a number of cottages based along the seafront, and a few cottages that are few meters up the hillside (although these still have a lovely view) - we stayed in one of these cottages and we felt very private and secluded. I think all of the cottages had en-suite bathrooms.

The staff were friendly, and most of them spoke english really well. They include breakfast in the rate, and they offer Filippino or American breakfast, breakfast was do-able, not great though. We at a few other meals there, and we were definately not blown away by the food. We had a few meals in Coron town, and we were much more impressed with the food that we ate in town - we found a lovely little place called Coron Bistro, which was recommended to us by a Manila local. The food was very reasonably priced at the resort, as well as in town.

Our room had an aircon that did not work, and a noisy fan, so it got pretty hot at night. All windows do have mosquito nets, so you can keep the windows open. When we arrived at the resort we were told that if we wanted our room cleaned we needed to leave the "please clean my room" sign hanging on the outside of the door - after three days of doing this our room had still not been cleaned so we needed to ask the manager to please get the room cleaned.

The resort booked us a number of great day trips, and these were very well run, the guys that run the boats were extremely friendly.

The resort had a small bar which was really great - it even had a karaoke machine, which was fun.

The resort has a generator which provides electricity from 6pm to 9am, they also have free wifi which was handy.

In conclusion, Dive Link is a quiet and relaxing place to stay, however if you really enjoy the nightlife then I would recommend staying in town.

Room Tip: We stayed in the room called Santol, which was right on the side of the resort away from the bar, re...

Part of the package we got from clever buy is a 3D2N stay in Divelink. I have no idea about this resort but staying there had given me the impression that the choice of hotel is the best if you want to have a real relaxing vacation on the middle budget range in Coron.. It’s located in Uson island, about 10 min banca ride from Coron town and there you’ll be in a cozy resort sitting on a sheltered hillside. Banca ride to and from the place is free until 7pm so it’s not a problem going to places around. The cottage we stayed is for a couple. It’s a little bit old, with less than basic amenities. Don’t expect too much with regards to the room and bathroom so you won’t be disappointed. Since it’s a semi-native room, you really can’t expect real cleanliness. But it’s acceptable for the price range. There’s no electricity from 9 am til around 5pm. We didn’t find it bad because that’s usually the time when guests are out for island hopping or other activities. And what’s so nice about the place is the nice view, the sea breeze, the nice staff and the delicious just-right priced food in the restaurant. Our trip to Coron was a nice, memorable, interesting, relaxing experience. Staying at Dive link contributed to the nice stay we had.

We arrived there around lunch, our flight was actually delayed, instead of being there before lunch, we arrived around 2pm. BUT, when we arrived, it was really sweet of them to have our lunch already prepared on the table and coconut drinks with lovely flower on it. We felt like we're VIPs that time! The staffs were all nice and very hospitable. All of them are friendly, they will greet you from time to time like how's your stay or good evening or good morning!

One of their amenities was the swimming pool which is open until 10pm only. I remember when we walked our way to the room, I looked back and saw the fantastic scenery of Coron and that view was just a door step away from our room.

We stayed in their Bungalow cottage, just because it's a cottage it doesn't mean that the room wasn't air conditioned but hey it was! Very cozy and clean. I still remember the nice smell of the room. BUT here's the thing, there were no walkway lightnings on that area, sooo you need to bring a flashlight when going to the lobby from the room or vice versa.

Talking about their rooms, I cannot complain anything, it was indeed very comfortable and the place is really very conducive for sleep, quiet, cool, nice air. The bathroom has hot and cold water, though the bathroom was a little bit old and some faucet were a little rusty.

Despite the fact that this island resort is isolated or secluded, the Wi-fi strength was good!! Amazing!! Though, there's no electricity from 9-5, but we weren't bothered by it as this was the usual time for island hopping and other activities.

If you want to party or have a drink at night, you have to arrange a boat going to the main town with a ride of about 10 to 15 minutes. You must get the number of the boatmen or the person who is in charge so that they can pick you up from there going back to the resort after having a good time. The boatmen by the way will not wait for you, they will go back to the resort and will for your text in order for them to pick you up, so there's no need to worry for the boatmen! We actually stayed here last Nov 2010, it's enticing to give them a review they deserve.

Room Tip: Choose a room that is near by the pool or the lobby area. Some rooms that are located at far have da...
