Dive link resort was definitely a great base to explore the Coron area. The staff there was extremely helpful and organised lots of fun sightseeing and diving trips for us. They even took us to the local clinic and lots of different drug stores when my friend was unwell whilst we were there.

The resort is actually on an island called Uson but they provide a bangka to get across to Coron Town for free if you need to go over there or if you want to go for dinner. The resort was quiet and calm and had a really beautiful view over the bay. I took some really beautiful pictures of the amazing sunsets you get there.

The food is good in the restaurant and you can order food for a packed lunch if you are going away at the weekends. The rooms are a little run down and could use a make over but they are clean and fine for a weekend, they also have an intercom for ordering drinks to your room which was nice. The resort has a pool which was nice for chilling out after a day of diving and the also have a karaoke room if you fancy a bit of singing. You can also use the resort's kayaks for free there to explore the bay.

I will most probably go back to the resort with my husband as I enjoyed the trip there so much.

I stayed here for two nights to have a relaxing break away from Sea Dive Resort in Coron, and whilst the break was good, the resort is just a second class tatty guest house.

Rooms are boring, have old foam matresses, cheap sheets and bathrooms that are in need of a little maintenance. There is also a major problem with ants and other insects eating the bamboo walls. Just as well it was only two nights as I couln't stand a third.
The few members of staff tried to help, but they were untrained and as far as I could see, the manager only visited occasionally.

The food was average at best, but again the waitresses tried hard to please.

The only saving grace was the dive coordinator asshe is a seasoned professional who organised everything with care and was attentive to all the whims of our group and of others thare at the time.

Would I go there again....NO

Stayed here thanks to cock up by diving world ,was supposed to be on liveaboard but ended up land based instead.Accommodation was clean but quite basic, food was ok if you liked fish fish and more fish, bar was small but ok. resort is quite small so if you don't like it you are pretty stuck ,would recommend getting a water taxi over to Coron town where there is more life and bars.Diving from here was not great as quite a trip out to Coron wrecks everyday ,although once there the diving was very good and definitely worth the trip just to say you had actually been there.Barracuda lake is also worth the effort. I would have to say that the staff were very helpful and friendly and a credit to the Philippines, would i go back ,yes to the area but in a live aboard preferably.

I don't really write blogs but with this resort I feel I have to, if only to warn you guys who are planning to take a vacation and have a good time. My friends and I (5 of us) stayed in Dive Link for 3 days and 2 nights. On our first hour, we literally started counting the hours of our stay. Hmmm, where should I start?... FOOD--they say it's buffet. But for breakfast, they serve only a platter of fried eggs (about 12 fried eggs?), a platter of cheap ham, a platter of some-kind-of-fish, and a platter of rice. They serve that for around 30 or so people, and DO NOT REPLENISH--except for the rice. So the guests are literally running to fall in line and get food--nag-uunahan. Same goes for lunch--they serve the some-kind-of-fish, rubbery (no kidding) squid and some-kind-of-vegetable. The food tastes awful...And you'd think they would serve fresh fish and/or seafood because this is an island resort??.. ROOM--We stayed in supposedly one of the better cottages they have. Our cottage has 2 rooms. There were 3 of us staying in one of the rooms which has only 2 single beds so we requested for an extra bed. The extra bed never came. The room smelled of some strong poison-disinfectant-whatever during our 3-day stay. The bathroom door is rotting badly. And... brace yourself...while I was taking a shower (there's no hot water, contrary to their claim--and there's only one shower knob) THE TOILET BOWL OVERFLOWED!!! Nobody's using it. And the bathroom is only about 1.5 x 3 meters in size so the toilet bowl water flowed and washed my feet. (Can you still take more of this?) We reported this to the "management"; some guy came and checked the bathroom but it was never fixed. Also, inside the room, there is a small closet in front of the beds. Beside the closet is a small mirror (fits your face), and under that mirror is...tadaa!!! a sink.
TOUR--Included in the package was "trekking" and a trip to the Giant Cross. We were told to ride their boat, so we did, with some other guests. Then we were literally abandoned at the port. We were never told where to go. No guide came to meet us at the port, so we just took a tricycle, explored the place, and tried to have fun despite the hassle. The following day, during the island hopping and the trip to Kayangan Lake, etc., their boat conked out. We were stranded for about an hour or so, but well, that part is not entirely their fault so let's not include that...
STAFF--we never saw them smile. They never said good morning, afternoon or evening. When we pointed out to one staff a plate on the buffet table that has a small cockroach and a black gooey thing on it, he just wiped off the cockroach with his hand and left the plate on the table. He took the plate away only after I told him to do so. On the last day of our stay, they called us on the intercom at 10am. (Yes, there's an intercom! But it's installed outside the rooms! Check-out time is 12noon, but they called at 10am to ask if we could check out earlier because they still have to clean the rooms for the next batch of guests. Duhh?? Ok, we still tried to be nice and checked out at 11am--settled the bill etc. After we've paid, nobody paid attention to us anymore--we carried our own bags and luggages.
Thank goodness Busuanga is so beautiful that we were still able to enjoy our trip despite our horrible experiences at Dive Link. Unfortunately, with us was an American friend who thought that such type of service is normal among Filipinos. Now, are you still willing to try out this resort? Good luck :-)

I remember the superb service and how the waitresses explained and made sure that we get the answer to all our queries regarding the resort and the Islands of Coron. We never get the chance to stay there though, but we had the best service when we were invited by SB Mata to dine out the night before we left Coron. People are helpful and the staff welcomed us all with smiles.. We will definitely go back to Coron and will stay at the wonderful and historic Dive Link Resorts... Will post photos later..
Thanks for the wonderful experience Dive Link Resort.

Can not recommend at all.. first of all, a beach with sand flies. My girlfriend was bitten all over even though we wasn't on the beach. The staff tried to talk us into that she was either allergic to the weather or some food because they didn't have any sand flies, till one in the staff said that they had sand flies. That was also what they told us at the Coron hospital...

We also had to pay in advance for our stay. First time that happened in our 3 week tour in Palawan. Which they addmitted they have started with since the had a lot of complains on sand flies and other things...

Not worth it at all!!

This was our 1st visit out to Busuanga via Manila and stayed at the Dive Link Resort in Palawan. It was a simple yet charming resort with a staff that was out of this world in customer service! The location was perfect as it was on a very private/quiet part of the island and the daily events that were planned through the resort were well organized. Visits to the Maquinit Hot Springs (absolutely therapeutic), the limestone cliffs (breath taking), Kayangan Lake Coron Island ( amazing swimming spot) , snorkeling in the most undisturbed, blue waters of the South China Sea ( I've never seen such gorgeous coral reefs) and all the while, enjoying the sightseeing along the way.
This experience in Palawan is one that must be repeated again someday and the staff at the Dive Link Resort has much to do with this descision!
