“Slow service, good food”
Reviewed 30 January 2014 via mobile

This restaurant is worth a visit for the sunsets - for those, arrive by 5.45 at the latest. It's right on the seafront, and the sun goes down over the hills on the other side of the bay. Spectacular.

The service, however, is very patchy. We were warmly welcomed, and given a good table. Our order was also taken promptly. The drinks - smoothies - came quickly and were very nice.

On our first visit, the starters came reasonably quickly. The coconut and pumpkin soup was excellent, but the humous not so good. One to avoid.

Then the trouble started. We waited and waited and waited, while tables all around us got served. I cleared away the starter plates myself, as we got sick of looking at them.

Turned out our food had gone to another table which had, a long time after us, ordered exactly the same!! Eventually we got our veggie Coconut and Basil curries, which were very tasty though undercooked.

Despite this we visited again, for the sunset views. A better experience - though the service again was so slow we ended up playing I Spy. My friend had a properly cooked curry (watch out for the green chilis) and I had the Palawan chicken, which I enjoyed.

Overall yes , I would recommend the restaurant, if you have the time to spare.

“Absolute waste of time and money!!!”
Reviewed 22 January 2014

Went here for coffee after a day trip around Coron Islands, after being told they do great coffee. Well what a disaster it really is, we ordered two shakes and a french press plus crepes. The first shake arrived followed closely by an espresso and finally by another shake. While the shakes were okay, the coffee was another story. It arrived in an espresso cup, the cup was warm but the coffee was stone cold. We called the waitress over, she took the coffee away and returned some four minutes later with the espresso in what looked like the same cup. The cup was extremely hot to touch, so we asked her if she had microwaved the coffee? Her eyeslit up and she replied with a huge grin that she had done this...WOW, how does this place still exist. The best part of this story is that language was not the issue, as two of us spoke tagalog fluently. The owner here really needs to focus on his business, this place is an embarressment to the hospitality industry.

“Great service and great food.”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

Now this was more like it. We had a table of around 12 and they managed to bring out all the food at the same time all cooked perfectly and great value. The drinks were yummy too. We had some bad service at Seadive so when we came the following night we really appreciated the quick service and good food. Nice little set up too on the water! Would go back again if I had the time :)

“Quite good food, but a little pricey.”
Reviewed 16 January 2014

I went here several times, and tried a few different things; the pumpkin and coconut soup was lovely, highly recommended. The pitta and hummus wasn't so nice, very bitter yet bland. The creamy chicken with mushroom pasta was OK if you added a lot of salt and pepper - can't say much more than that. The prices weren't really reflected in the taste of the food, but Coron doesn't have a lot of options, it is probably still one of the best choices in town.
