Diving in Barracuda Lake is a rather wierd experience. The lake is a mixture of fresh and salt water with marked thermoclines as you descend. Water temperature rose from around 25° on the surface to a giddy 38° at around 20 metres. Lake itself is largely dead with grey ash-like bottom. There are also a few caves that I was told make their way our through the rocks to the sea. Bit of a climb to get there up and down wooden steps in full scuba gear.

I heard someone badmouthing barracuda lake so I thought I would leave a review. This was one of our favourite places to visit on the island trip. The combination of clear water and underwater limestone formations is other worldly. If it is possible I would advise not to miss it off your trip.

I been diving in Barracuda lake. Amazing to be at 30-35 meters below sea level and still have a water temp of 35 degrees celsius. Unique experience.

If there is one place one cannot miss it is this Lake. We had seen the others in the area and we were not too eager about going up and down more steps. But this place was very well worth it. Depending on the time of day one visits the blend of salt and fresh water varies.

Awesome lake.
Dive to feel the heat within. I seen many people snorkel on the surface, they can only experience 5% of the lake.
The uniqueness of the lake is within n beneath.
