“Excellent starting point for a trip across France”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

June 2014; We stayed here at the start of our adventure across Europe. The site is clean, in beautiful grounds, with a nice staff team. Its well located and easy to access. The facilities are clean and the pitches well laid out. We had our dog with us and she was welcome too with lots of areas and fields to walk on.
There is a small village nearby, very pretty french...and Guines and St Omeris not far. St Omer is beautiful and well worth a visit. Just turn Right on the roundabout outside the camp and follow the signs... lots of people watching and building to see, also nice atmosphere.
We would definitely come back and stay.

Room Tip: We just made sure we had space and shade... which many of the pitches do...

I e-mailed the site after reading a previous travellers blog who had stayed and had help organising the vet for their dog before returning home to the UK. I couldn't have been more pleased with the assistance provided when sending my enquiry or indeed on arrival to the site. The stress of the couple of days before returning to the UK was removed. The vets appointment was made in advance. The receptionist and vet spoke good English and were very attentive to our dogs. Answered all our questions and very reasonably priced offering a 50% discount for a second dog. The site itself was first class and would not hesitate in recommending the same to anyone.

Room Tip: We stayed in our motorhome on site so cannot comment.

Great campsite with a mixture of tents, caravans, motor homes and chalets. Very quiet. Has a swimming pool, heated, lovely and warm with children's paddling pool and flume. There are tennis courts and table tennis tables but bring your own kit as it's not possible to hire. A bar, shop and restaurant on site.

Very helpful staff, nicely laid out with spacious pitches, shower and toilet blocks good with plenty of hot water, WiFi access available on pitches. Only used this site as a one night stop over for arriving and departing on ferry.
Drinks at the snack bar are very expensive.

We stayed here for two nights in total, booking with Eurocamp. We used the camp as a stopover both on our way to & back from Southern France.

Our accommodation was a Eurocamp tent which I found perfectly fine & the bed was very comfy,

The site itself is lovely. It is well kept & clean. The pool is nice, as is the bar which serves lovely food. It is set in beautiful grounds & there are good facilities for children too.

We'd go back.

This was our first time on a camp site in France. We were very happy with the facilities and everyone was so helpful. Plenty of hot showers and always clean, even have one area with heating nice when you are coming out of a hot shower. Pitches are nice and big and have lots of privacy. A big thank you to the site owner as he rescued us on our first night after a few carafes of wine in the bar we couldnt find our way back but he soon got us there. We did lots of touring so didnt get to use the pool but it looked lovely, same with the restaurant on site but anyone you spoke to said how good it was.
We would certainly return shame alot of people use it as a stopover site as there is so much to see and do around the area.

Site is run by Les Castels but has tour operators Canvas & Eurocamp, experiences may differ with operator. We booked with Les Castels and had a great experience.

Lodging clean, thought off & stocked with spare blankets and heaters, site well presented/maintained. Staff friendly & helpful.

Be aware of opening times for facilities, shop (épicier) opens for a few hours in the morning & few hours in the late afternoon/evening. You can order baguettes, croissants & pan aux choc the night before & collect the following morning.

Drinks/Food & Amusements open later in the afternoon (6ish) may differ in high season. Does mean you don’t have a café or outlet during the day for drinks, so take a thermos.

Mix of play equipment on site for all ages inc. Adults with outside gym. Crazy golf is old and needs some attention but still playable.

Main pool is warm. Water slide and plunge outside are unheated.

Site is very relaxed and young family friendly. Bit like an old fashion British Campsite.

For a 1st crossing and holiday in France this site is ideal as it’s a short drive from Calais so you don’t have to be too adventurous with the driving.

Room Tip: Lots of options here with Statics or Camping, be aware they have similar weather to UK so maybe bett...
