“A 'Must Go' to villa in Tuscany”
Reviewed 30 October 2016 for a stay in July 2016

This was our first villa booking in Tuscany for my wife and I and our grown up children who were visiting during different periods of the holiday. We booked this villa early Spring 2016 when it was still to be completed. We had plenty of conversations with Terry the property manager and, in short, we trusted what he told us and placed our deposit.
Well, it was well worth the trust and wait. This villa complex was a marvellous experience and although it wasn't quite complete (just small touches), the whole place had been finished to a very high standard.
There are two villas that accommodate the guests, no more than 20 metres from each other and these are well equipped and furnished and both had welcome packs upon arrival. We were met by the owner, Rossano and Terry, the property manager. Between them, they took care of all our needs and requirements during our stay and were very attentive. The properties are on a hillside and there is a steep climb up the unmade and twisty road. Please note that our hire car, when fully loaded, would scrape the road surface on the way up, so be minded of this.
The grounds and more importantly, the views are outstanding and you can relax in the infinity style swimming pool that looks out over the valley below....... simply stunning!
The local village and food supermarkets are a 10 minute drive. We ate on the property terrace most evenings. No air-con in the rooms but the owner provided fans for each bedroom. There is an outbuilding that housed a washing machine but that was all. A large double fronted space, it would appear the owner wants to make this into a wedding reception room. We felt it would serve better as a possible games room for those guests with teenagers or more so, perhaps a stunning luxury feature bedroom??
We hired a car having flown into Pisa airport. It is a min 90 minute drive from here to the property. This holiday and venue made it a magical time. Please do not hesitate to try this place as we are sure that you will not be disappointed.

Hello David and Lindy, First, thanks very much again for staying with us at Castello Roccolo and thanks too or your well thought review - We are very pleased that you all enjoyed yourselves and, that the promise was 99% kept! The gardens are more established and, more important the road has now been re-made so the journey is much easier. I think also the idea of a games room or special family room below the terrace is a good idea and I shall put this to the owner to think about. The plan too is to have airconditioning in the bedrooms and this will probably happen next spring.
The villa has proved popular with visitors from other sites this year, and they too found the villa a lovely place for a family holiday. We send our best wishes and look forward to welcoming you again to Tuscany,
