“A delicious taste of Tuscany!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2013

We, two Canadians, just returned from a wonderful trip to La Maesta! Rosalinda, Stefano, Pat, Lilla (Nonna), Florentina and Virginia made our first trip to Italy unforgettable. From the time Rosalinda picked us up at the train station, we were made to feel right at home. She suggested and drove us to and from many incredibly beautiful towns, with recommendations for sight seeing, dining and shopping. At La Maesta, we stayed in a clean, comfortable flat with a gorgeous view and easy access to the pool, which was lovely after a long, hot but very enjoyable day of walking. The homemade meals were delicious and were made even better by Nonna teaching us how to make gnocchi from scratch! I have since tried it at home, not nearly as good, but still not too bad! We enjoyed everyone's company, including meeting and chatting with Pat, playing in the pool with Virginia, and sharing wine and grappa with Rosalinda and Stefano. We highly recommend La Maesta (Tuscan Sun) and look forward to another visit!

I have been twice to this wonderful bed and breakfast/ homestay. It is a visit to a friend, with all the care to make the week a memorable one. You visit the places you request and can do things at your own pace. You may like to stay on the farm and just laze by the pool. I enjoyed the taste of the true Tuscany because you share meals with the family and experience a bit of their life.

Our stay at La Maestà (Tuscan Sun) was the realisation of my lifelong dream to 'learn to cook' in Tuscany. Rosalinda, Stephano, Virginia, Nonna & Francesca provided the best all round experience in Tuscany and welcomed us into their family and way of life. Rosalinda worked tirelessly to ensure we saw the amazing sites, experienced the culture and soaked up the history of Tuscany all tailored to 'our' wishes.

We were blessed with perfect weather and I was happy that we decided to go in June. The views from the patio right outside our bedroom door was breathtaking and provided a relaxing backdrop for pre-dinner drinks before our delicious meals.

I researched many 'cooking tours' before we settled on La Maestà because of the freedom to do what we wanted to do and to learn to cook (or not to) if we wished.

What can I say but 'A HUGE THANK YOU' for the most memorable trip of a lifetime. Would love to come back one day....hopefully!

Room Tip: All rooms were great as they had a communal lounge, dining, fireplace , TV etc. You could interact w...

Our second visit to La Maesta was better than the first, if that is possible? Again Rosalinda and her wonderful family made us welcome from the start, it was like coming "home". The accomodation on the hillside overlooking the valley and distant hills is breathtaking. My friends were overwhelmed by the magic of Tuscany immediately. Rosalinda and Stefano are expert drivers and guides, Lilla is everyone's image of the Italian Mumma in the kitchen, her cooking lesson had everyone enthralled, she is a superb gnocchi maker. Florentina looked after our villa with an expert touch and little Virgina had everyone entranced. If you are looking for an authentic Tuscan experience with all the trimmings, pack your bag and head to Agriturismo La' Maesta .

We stayed her for a week after the hustle and bustle of Rome and it was just wonderful. Being so close to Cortona and other towns in the Tuscan region made getting around easy. We used the facilities of Rosalinda's wagon and tours which were always well organised and not rushed. There is nothing better than visiting a town from the top and walking down to meet your driver.

Being spoilt by Lilla's magnificent homestyle italian cooking was more than we expected and we never walked out of the dining room feeling hungry. Having dinner with their Italian family let us learn much more about the culture than we ever could staying at a hotel in town.

Pure joy to stay, thanks Rosalinda, Stefano, Lilla and Virginia for letting us stay with you in your beautiful home and introducing us to Tuscany - we will never forget your kindness and generosity.

Room Tip: Any room is a good room, all have views of the tuscan countryside

We finished our 6 week retirement holiday with a fabulous week at 'La Maesta" in June. Rosalind and Stefano and family made us feel at home and every day we took off to see the sights in the wonderful, interesting, hilltop towns before returning to swim and laze by the pool until we were served a delicious dinner with wine or went out to eat in local restaurants. A special birthday dinner for Athol and trip to the festival at Castiglion Fiorentino, the hot weather and views across the Val Di Chiano still have us thinking and dreaming of returning one day. A great online find.Thank You Lazzeri Family.

Room Tip: All rooms look good, choose a lower one in a hot summer.

A highlight of our 6 week holiday in Europe and the UK was the week we spent with Rosalinda and her family at La Maesta in Tuscany. We were met at the station by Rosalinda and Stefano and for the rest of our week we felt we were staying with family. Rosalinda looked after us so very well, taking us to some wonderful places and making sure that our Tuscan experience was all we had wished for. We had a fantastic view from our terrace and enjoyed watching the sunflowers come into bloom from there. It was a blessing to come home to the lovely swimming pool after each busy day of exploration. Our accomodation was comfortable and clean and the meals we shared with the family were delicious. Rosalinda ensured that we experienced the Tuscan way of life, taking us to the local markets and the terrific annual celebration in her town Castiglion Fiorentino. We would certainly recommend a stay at La Maesta for people travelling to Tuscany.
