“Heaven on earth, pure relaxation! :-)”
Reviewed 9 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Second visit to this villa and I cannot fault it, the owner Daniele is the nicest guy and will do anything to help your stay wonderful.
The villa is situated at the top of a hill and surrounded by lavender and olive trees and a view that you can see for miles and miles!
The villa is very well equipped and very clean and comfortable, has an outdoor BBQ that we used a lot and the pool is so refreshing! Will be back again definitely!
Thanks Daniele,

Richard and Scott and family :-)

“Beautiful Setting, Fantastic View, Charming Host”
Reviewed 6 November 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We have stayed at this villa 5 times and will be staying there again next May (2016).

Our first stay was for 2 weeks in 2001. We were a party of 6 including my 80 year old mother. We appreciated the villa layout that has 2 bedrooms on the first floor so my mother didn't have to climb the stairs. In 2008, we celebrated my wife's 60th birthday with a party of 7. Our stay this year was to celebrate our daughter's 40th birthday. The large kitchen and covered patio allowed a great space to celebrate these milestones. All of those traveling with us really appreciated that each of the 5 bedrooms have an en suite bath.

We use the villa as a base to explore most of Tuscany and part of Umbria. Our trips usually involve visits to Cortona, Piensa, Siena, Montepulciano, Arezzo and Assisi. Castiglion Fiorentino is a charming hill town with good rail connections to Rome, Florence and places beyond. We have used the train to visit Florence and also used it for a quick 2 day trip to Rome in the middle of a 2 week stay. On one of our trips, we arrived by rail from Bologna. You will need a car as the villa is in the hills outside of town.

The charming host always has the villa in perfect condition and makes us feel welcome. We have never been disappointed in the accommodations. Daniele is very responsive if any issues arise. The washer went out this year and Daniele let us use the one in his personal residence.

Our trips have been in late April and early May so we haven't taken much advantage of the pool except as a place to sit and enjoy the view. Even though we don't use it, Daniele always has it ready for us. However, during this time, the drive to the villa is beautiful because of the poppies blooming in the olive groves.

If I were visiting Tuscany, I can't imagine a better place to stay. I highly recommend it.

“Just wonderfull”
Reviewed 6 June 2013 for a stay in June 2012

Going to Daniele’s villa on the mountain in Castiglion Fiorentino is a great experience, once I experienced it, I fell in love with the place, the atmosphere and the hospitality of the host. It is therefore easy to understand that it will be my sixth time I will spend my holidays on Daniele’s mountain.
The view from the pool, surrounded by olive trees, overlooking the ancient city of Castiglion Fiorentino is just marvelous. I just love the evenings on the mountain enjoying a good glass of wine and a barbecue. Upon the hill you can enjoy real quietness, yet in 15 minutes you’re in Castiglion Fiorentino, a nice medieval town with all necessary stores, nice restaurants and bars. Although it is an excellent basis to discover Toscana and part of Umbria, my children just loved the pool and the villa.
Don’t forget to taste some of Daniele’s wonderful own olive oil, it is superb!
A holiday on Daniele’s mountain is just magic.

“Simply couldn't be better!”
Reviewed 20 May 2013 for a stay in July 2012

We will be returning here for the sixth time this year. Danielle is the perfect host and our return always feels like a 'coming home'. Nothing is too much trouble for him. The house is well equipped and comfortable, the location beautiful and, as a family we could ask for no more. It is an ideal location for all ages. Whether you want to lie all day by the pool gazing at the beauty of the place whilst consuming delicious food and wine purchased from good local shops or dash around seeing the many wonders that make Tuscany, this is an ideal place. With the added bonus of Danielle's hospitality, recommendations and good humour you can't go wrong.
