This review is for Grassington B&B - Lythe End, with Andrew and Cynthia Colley as hosts.
Our room was comfortable and suited a 3-person family (2 adults and a 2 year old) well. - a good size with a slightly separate area with a single bed for the little one. The hosts offered us fresh milk on arrival to accompany our tea and coffee - a nice touch and a refreshing change from UHT! The views from the bedrooms are breathtaking (my parents stayed in the other room). Off-road parking was very useful in a town where parking is difficult and sometimes costly. The breakfast was pretty good - the portions could have been a little bigger, but perhaps we were just very hungry!
Our only disappointment was when we checked out. Although our original email enquiry had made it clear that our little boy would be with us, we were only told on check-out that we would be charged an extra £20 for him. This resulted in one night in a comfortable but by no means luxurious B&B at the end of October costing £90 which I thought was a little pricey. We paid the extra amount without comment, but I did raise my disappointment politely in an email a day or two later; sadly, Cynthia did not respond. I am only pleased that we weren't there for a week or else our bill would have come as quite a shock!
