“Perfect weekend getaway”
Reviewed 14 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

I stayed at Ellesmere cottage with my mum for 2 nights in April as we don't live too far away - it's ideal for a rural country getaway. but all the local ameneties are still right on your door step via a quirky passage way that goes behind the house.

We brought our dog, Bella - the garden is perfect for her and most of the cafes/pubs allow dirty shoes and pets, which is great as it's a walking/tourist village.

The bedrooms are all decorated and furnished to a high standard and I loved being able to investiagate all the rooms, right up to the top of the house!

For walking it's amazing - so many walks/cycle routes etc and the locals are very friendly.

Already planning to come back in November with my fiance and friends!

“Excellent large cottage in perfect location!”
Reviewed 10 January 2013 for a stay in January 2013

Stayed with another family (4 adults & 4 kids in total) in Jan. Plenty bedrooms and bathrooms, nice kitchen, real fire in the dining room, sky tv (with movies) in the living room and excellent wifi throughout. We cooked both nights and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Within 1 min you are in the centre of Grassington which is a lovely village, good pubs, restaurants and a few shops. Great area for walking, cycling or just chilling out. If you are thinking about getting a cottage in the area, I highly recommend you go for this one. I hope there is still availability for me to go back later in the year :)

“Just the spot!”
Reviewed 4 January 2013 for a stay in December 2012

We stayed here in the winter, and although the weather was less than perfect, the location was great! Fab for walks and shopping as the house is right in the centre of town. The house itself is also lovely, can't fault it! Will deffo be coming back in the summer :)

“Lovely Cottage in an Ideal Location, perfect for groups.”
Reviewed 2 January 2013 for a stay in December 2012

I have just returned from a great new year break at this lovely cottage which is new to the rental market.
In total there were 4 adults and 4 children (age range 4 to 9), and the cottage was an ideal size for our group, and although the 5th bedroom was not serviceable for our last minute visit we did not miss it at all! The other 4 bedrooms were more than ample - the master bedroom is a fantastic sized, en suite room, with a huge comfortable bed. There is another comfy double and 2 twin rooms, one of which also has a double sofa bed for larger groups. All bedding was immaculate and fresh, as were all towels.
The kitchen was well equipped and stocked with everything to make it a home from home with original beams and flooring, a rustic kitchen. There is also a handy downstairs toilet located off the kitchen, accessable up 2 small steps.
A great sized living room, with ample seating for our 2 families with the added bonus of full sky+ package (inc sports / movies) which is a great additional feature and certainly served its purpose for us, due to the rather wet weather we encountered. Currently there is an electric fire in the living room, however an open fire in the hearth would have made this room and indeed the cottage perfect.
In terms of location the cottage is situted in a "secret lane" located off the main street in Grassington, the children were enthralled with the secret tunnel that leads beind the cottage to the hub of the village in less than 1 minute! Access wise, the lane is narrow but we navigated our 2 larger style family cars with no issues.
One point to note due to the original stone flooring in the kitchen and dining room, pack your slippers!
Overall we would recommend this cottage to friends and would certainly return, in drier weather to explore more of this lovely area.

“Excellent character cottage with period features and modern facilities.”
Reviewed 2 January 2013 for a stay in December 2012

We stayed here for the Dickensian Festival in December and the proximity to the village for such an event was excellent - less than 1 minute's walk.
We would certainly recommend this property for a holiday. It is full of character whilst being welcoming, warm and cosy. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. The smart tv and free wi-fi were an added bonus.
I am sure that when we return in the summer we will enjoy spending time in the peaceful garden.
Being walkers we enjoyed the immediate access to good walking country.
We would recommend Grassington House for a 'special' lunch or evening meal and browsing in Grassington's gift shops was very enjoyable
