Description: A Ria is situated in Ferragudo along the quay side before the local market off the main square. Ferragudo is one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Portugal. A Ria is a small restaurant which compliment Ferragudo specializing in local Algarvean cuisine such as Cataplana & Monk fish rice, cuttlefish and clams is the specialty of the house. Your visit to Ferragudo and A Ria would not be complete with out tasting fresh fish grilled across the road, served with potatoes and salad but will be happy to provide home made chips and fresh vegetable if preferred. The menu caters for everyone with some excellent steak options and a small children's menu. A Ria prepares all the dishes at the time of order ensuring each dish is fresh NB.this can cause some delays in the height of the summer when the restaurant is full, you can take this time to relax and enjoy a drink or a bottle of good quality Portuguese wine. WiFi is now available. A Ria is currently closed on Mondays. To guarantee your table reservations are excepted.

“Top meal in Ferragudo”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

We've just returned from our holiday in the Algarve and we were spoilt for choice as far as restaurants were concerned but one stands out as the best and that's ARIA in Ferragudo. We had a very friendly welcome and plenty of useful advice when searching through the extensive menu. The food was plentiful, tasty and very well cooked and reasonably priced. A meal to remember!

“Delicious and friendly”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

Eaten here a couple of times now and never dissapoints.

Garlic prawns exceptional and I chose my own fish which was cooked outdoors on the grill and filleted at the table.

Very fresh, fish is expensive here but beautifully done.

Do visit!

“Great Spot”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

Across the river from Portimao this fishing town is a bit touristy, but easy to access by car, and offers plenty of free parking. After deciding to avoid the dodgy looking Tourist Restaurants on the main square, I walked around the corner and discovered A Ria. Its a smallish restaurant with an outside patio, and offers both regional seafood and meat dishes. If you like charcoal BBQ, they do it out front (it smells great). I went for the Chocos (Cuttlefish) and received a perfectly prepared, very generous portion, along with a very good half bottle of house wine. The server was excellent, and offered a complimentary shot of aguadente with my coffee. (I declined, but appreciated the gesture). I'd go back any day!
